Makes a change to the Mavic 3 wind tests too.

I "tested" the M2Z up to 75 metres during Eunice, but soon came back down again and took it safely home.

Blimey,   I kept mine safe in the house.

The wind wasn't too bad down here in the valley, so I  set off up the hill. Only at the top did I realise how rough it was.
Five minutes of droning was enough to convince me to head back home for

Really strange that it could not be found!

I looks like the 'landing' was in the log, still connected till the end.
So last record in the log does hold the LatLon position.

Plus 5x a reconnection, would love to see the logs for this windy flight.
cheers

Good job too as you'd probably have lost it.

I think he meant sports mode and just said the wrong thing.

With no stick input from me there was no discernible drift, but as soon as there was the slightest attempt at movement, the warnings came thick and fast.  Even descending to 50m made little difference.  Just time for a few views before landing.

I think that valley must have really sheltered you.

It does funnel the wind in one direction, for sure. In calmer conditions it's useful to surf out into the wind, then ride it back to the homepoint.

I watched this s couple of days ago...

What suprised me was that care Refresh would replace what is pretty much a deliberate lots of the aircraft.

Flying in that kind of wind at that height is never going to end well. It's easy out of spec for the Mini 2.

Surely if you have to submit flight logs for a fly away DJI would see straight away that the aircraft was being carried by 100mph winds... I think he was very lucky they agreed to replace it.

I guess we all pay the premium for these idiots,   and go course the deliberate test damage every new drone that comes out.

The fly away coverage of care refresh will replace your drone if it was your fault or not, even if acting stupid.

Even if it appears to be deliberate?

So, if I scratch my drone, or scratch the camera lens or something like that, then I can just fly my aircraft out over a river and cut the power with the emergency stop sticks move?

Wow, no wonder they charge so much for it... I'd much prefer a lower cost and them be far stricter with replacements. Seems liek madness to replace something under an 'insurance' when the loss was deliberate.

Yeah, the cost for fly away is not cheap but to replace a damaged drone if you can give it back to Dji is a very small amount. For me its cheaper to claim from my household insurance if I damage my drone

What an idiot that guy is, that borders on reckless flying IMO.

When it reconnected was it not showing in the app's map?

He needed club members to do an analysis of that flight!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

Set the RTH to land if disconnected and then fly over a river, pull the usb cable and turn off the remote.  Will look better in the log file.

The other thing I noticed about this video which confused me is his comment "I'm going to have to put it into ATTI mode pretty quick" and then a short while later he seems to imply that he has switched on ATTI mode.

I didn't think this could be done manually on the Mini 2..  I thought it was something that was automatic when the aircraft determined that it couldnt rely on the info from its sensors.

unless there is something in the drone FW settings, i.e.swap cine for atti, it could be there, i only took a brief look at all the extra stuff, I didn't notice it though and its not mentioned in the main features and to me, atti mode would be a main feature, it doesn't sound possible and the reason why is because the drone is restricted to, dammit, i cannot remember 2 secs, let me check my logs..... got it, 36mph in sports mode, that's my max in about 30mph gusts, it physically couldnt go any faster, that is consistent with all other speed tests in decent winds, it always tops at 36mph, now i know the speeds can be fiddled with using DH and i am 90% sure i have already fiddled with mine and if I remember correctly, sports is already set at max so i could only turn up normal mode so i left normal mode as it was. Now thats using DH out of the box and not using the parameter fiddling, there are many parameters in there so there is a wee possibility, i would be surprised if it was possible and would be interested to know how he managed to get around the speed restriction. As i posted this common sense kicked in, its bloody obvious, if i had flown in 40 gusts then it would have topped at 40mph, whilst the ac is restricted, wind power is not *rolls eyes and smacks face* that would mean he was in some damn good winds and yeah, deffo reckless, amazing what folks will do for views, likes and pennies. Ive fractured the odd rule/law but not at the expense of losing a drone and or the risk of causing damage or injury. I didn't delete what i wrote because it referenced the question posed, could DH have enabled atti

Maybe now the rumours seem to be flowing we need to start a new thread with Mini 3 purchase excuses that we can all use that don't involve deliberately crashing our Mini 2s...
