Today I started to use my 2 new smart batteries manufactured August 2021. Put them in my Mavic 2 Pro, started up the drone and the GO4 on my phone. I expected to see a request for updates for the batteries, but this did not happened. Is this something with the new batteries that they do not need to be updated? I remebered the batteries form 2019 required this. Or are they already preset to the latest dron firmware?

In the Go4 App you can check the version of the firmware on the battery to see if it matches your existing battery.

Please find below a screen shot of this, but, unfortunately there is nothing that shows the battery serial number for me.

I will check if all other serial number are up to date. I thought that everything was up to date, as the drone was flying fine yesterday.

After checking the firmware for the GO 4 app, I noticed that your version no was : 4.2.14 and mine is 4.3.46, so this could perhaps be the reason for not showing the serial number of the battery. I also checked in DJI Assistant 2 which was version no: 2.0.14 and could not see that battery there either.

So I take it that if no request or warning for updates comes up with the new batteries and the drone flies fine, it is OK.

The last firmware update for the Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom was back in July of 2020.  If your batteries were manufactured in 2021, I would assume DJI would have installed the latest firmware update at the factory.  I would not expect you to have to update them yourself because of this.

If they don’t ask for updates its because its not needed. Not sure when last update was, are these heated batteries?

These batteries are just the normal batteries and not heated.
My older batteries was requested to get updated, but that is quite some time ago, like 7-8 month ago. The new batteries was manufactured in August 2021, so fairly new and probably manufactured to the latest requirement.
Yes, it could very well be that they do just not need to be update. If so, then I am happy with this and accept it. Thanks for your help.

Seems they might have removed it in later versions, although I find that odd.   Next time I fly mine I will check out of curiosity.

Yes, it is strange and also no advice about this from DJI or update in the manual. I guess that it is all up to us to sort out. Would be interesting to hear if you get the same after having the same update to the latest FW.

I just checked mine,   both IOS and Smart controller and they have removed that option.   Im sorry my information was out of date

See item 17 above. With the latest firmware, battery version number doe no longer show. Can you confirm that this is correct? Also if you can please advise why this is so?
