I painted this mural several years ago on the wall of a maintenance shed, back when I worked for the USFS at Mt. St. Helens NVM. It was a fun project, and I filmed portions of the process with the intention of creating a timelapse video, which I have only recently gotten around to editing and publishing.
Not shown are the several months of cleaning 30 years of grime off the wall so that I could start painting! The mural is a little rough in the details - I had very limited time to complete it before the season ended and the place closed down for the winter, and I was working with the cheapest paint possible. However, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out!
The first half of the video was filmed with an action camera, the second was filmed with the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. I also used the drone to capture this panorama of the mural:
Nice images. We've camped near the area, and enjoyed the visitor center. I grew up in the Portland area, was in Seattle when the eruptions began, it rattled windows there. Thanks for sharing.
