Months ago I had set Max Altitude to 302m and Auto RTH Altitude to 71m.
Few days ago I was surprised by 'You have reached the maximum altitude 71m' warning climbing the drone.
Back to Safety settings I saw Max Altitude was set also to 71m, not by me.
How could be this possible?

Only 3 possibilities.

1/ it changed when you updated new Firmware
2/ you done it unknown to yourself
3/ or someone who has access to your drones.

My guess is 1

Firmware updates change some settings back to factory default values.
But the default altitude setting is 122 metres

I did several flies during the weekend and the issue was in the middle of it. On Saturday I took vertical shots at 120m. On Sunday evening I got the flight limit.
Last upgrade was performed some weeks ago.
I understand that I inadvertently could touch the slider and changed the value from 302m to 71m
Too much chance but the possibility exists. If so I should buy a lottery ticket!
Only me use the device.
I'm curious if another thing could cause that.
I only have entered in Safety menu to scroll to Unlock zones.
I'll check the beginning of screen recorders I've made to see if it was my fault. I didn't recorded all the flights

Firmware updates change some settings back to factory default values.

I don't know why there's no possibility to save all settings and restore them at least all unchanged ones.
I remember in Go4 I could save 3 camera settings of saturation, contrast, sharpness + to use in custom situations.  I left using them because every upgrade they were deleted

I don’t know of anything else that could have changed it. Maybe for awhile check before you fly. But I’m sure it will be ok.

Your recorded  flight data includes the max altitude limit and any changes, so if you really wanted to check back, you could find out when it was changed.

Hi, there. Sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please tell us the model of your device? Please try to refresh the aircraft firmware. If the issue persists, please provide a recording video related to it and export App Log for us to do a further investigation.

Looking at the recorded screens a flight ended "N Mode   Altitude Zone 120m".
The next one starts showing "N Mode   Altitude Zone 71m".  No scrolling in Safety tab.
I use a Tripltek 8" Android 10 (I know this hardware is not in the list of DJI suggested devices)

Another thing to check before flying, the Safety Max Altitude.
I first thought that for a reason DJI had momentarily lower it from 120m to 71m.

Altitude Zone is unrelated to your Max Altitude Limit.
It's usually to do with where you are relative to airports.

With these darn slider button adjustments it is FAR FAR too easy to accidentally change one limit whilst intentionally changing another limit.

I MUCH PREFER the type-in-a-number method of changing limits that is used in Go4.

I know that but that showed that the Max Altitude Limit was not below 120m.
If my M A L was 71m then it was displayed instead of Altitude Zone limit.
The intention of that label is to show the max altitude to fly either the Zone or the custom M A L

I totally agree. I couldn't fine tune from 71m to 70m

1m I wouldn't worry about, I struggle to get within 5m lol unless by pure chance.
