I cut my teeth on my own house,  when I bought my first house it was quite run down and needed everything addressing.    So I really learnt over the course of some years fixing that up.

It works for me. Although sometimes SHMBO'd thinks of a different (better) way to do something and Id prefer to stick with the way that works for me.  Because I know thats going to work out.

Being open to suggestion is sometimes hard when you are familiar with a way that you know already works.

I listen to her,   but if she's suggesting dong it with a skill I dont have vs a skill I have and a proven record with it gets tricky.
