Yes I guess it's the same for them as for canal narrowboats. You have to own a berth to keep it at  before you can buy one..

I'm in the final planning stages.  Just got answers back on COVID insurance requirements for the last two countries I planned to visit.  Next I need to work out exact route, gas requirements and take another look at upcoming weather projections.

Nevertheless it does seem to be true as I've seen it be really windy along the coast and then 50 miles inland it was calm.

I used to travel to Bonn/Cologne once or twice a week for the day,   it was handy that the company I worked for had their own air line and they paid travel time,   but I always found that it was colder in Germany than here.    Quite common to take off here on a bight cool day and land in fog and snow on the ground.  Luckily the Kolsch made up for it.

It was at the time,  although every year its gotten smaller and moved more work to the USA which is sad.   I no longer work there and to be honest that last few years were not the fun it once was.
