Hi

New to drones, so I downloaded the DJI Flight Simulator for windiws pc about a week ago, and it works 'ok' with an old Xbox controller.
But I thought it would be better with a DJI Controller. I did look at, just buying a Controller.

But today, in a moment of madness I went out and spent £1300 on an Air 2S combo pack

the website says it comes with a RC-N1, and it says RC-N1 when I connect it to the PC with the ''DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series)''
Assistant 2 sees it and updated it.

(but it does say RC231 on the back of it)

But it does not seem to work in the Flight Simulator

in the windows settting/ other devices/ it shows up a 'C5', and not as a controller

in windows device manager I see two usb devices under Ports (COM & LPT)
DJI USB VCOM For Debug (COM5)
DJI USB VCOM For Protocol (COM4)

I am on Windows 10
the Flight Simulator is version 1.4.0.0
the RC-N1 has firmware V04.12.0056

is it just me, or is there a problem that I am missing

any help to get it working in the Simulator would be great

It seems that the DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller is not listed on the DJI recommended Remote Controllers for the DJI Flight Simulator ( https://www.dji.com/simulator?site=brandsite&from=nav ). Kindly please use a compatible RC for you to run the DJI Flight Simulator. Kindly please refer to the image below for your reference. Thank you.

Is the RC-N1 Remote Controller not the standard controllor for the Mavic Air

you know it would be a lot, and i mean a LOT easier if you posted a set of links to the 'store' pages, so I can just click and buy :|

or list the product codes of the compatible ones. or something

and I can't see any of the ones on that list

ps: you can buy a cheap xbox controller for under $100 US
you'd think DJI would just make a DJI USB controller  for the Flight Simulator.

Ok, just watched a dozen YouTube videos... and I might have a solution

the "DJI FPV Remote Controller 2" is not on the list, but is recognized by windows. and just comes up as a game controller
that you can use for 'just about' any game or flight sim

at £139 I wish I'd known this before I bought the Air 2S

so unless someone has a better solution, I'll just order one

Sorry still Not sorted...
went to my local FPV store and spent another £130 on a DJI FPV Remote Controller 2

downloaded the DJI Assistant 2 (DJI FPV series) and updated the firmware to v01.02.0000

Windows now sees it, but still calls it C5, and I can't calibrate it. When I move the sticks, nothing happens. Press the buttons and nothing happens

see the drivers. Are they right





any ideas on what I am doing wrong

If you are just looking for a basic simulator to practice with, there are some drone simulators out there that work with the RC-N1 controller. I use SimuDrone, not a bunch of features but the sticks and gimbal control work great. I've been using it to practice maneuvers etc.

ok I finally got this github script installed.


install python 3.9 from python website.
add python to PATH under system settings because it does not add it automatically.

Adding the Python and Scripts directories to the PATH variable involves modifying the system environment variables. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do this on a Windows system:

1 Find Python Installation Path:

Locate the directory where Python is installed on your system. The default path is usually C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python3x, where YourUsername is your Windows username, and 3.x is the version number.

2 Copy Python and Scripts Paths:

Copy the path to the Python installation directory and the "Scripts" subdirectory. For example:
Python directory: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python3x
Scripts directory: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python3x\Scripts

3 Open System Properties:

Right-click on the Start button and select System.
Click on Advanced system settings on the left.

4 Open Environment Variables:

In the System Properties window, click on the Environment Variables button.

5 Edit User or System Variables:

In the Environment Variables window, you will see two sections: User variables and System variables.
If you want to modify the PATH for your user account only, edit the User variables. If you want to modify it for all users on the system, edit the System variables (you may need administrative privileges for this).

6 Add Python and Scripts Paths:

In the Edit Environment Variable window, click on New.

7 Apply Changes:

Click OK to close each of the open windows.

8 Restart CMD:

Close and reopen the Command Prompt to apply the changes.
You can now use the python and pip commands without specifying their full paths.
Remember to replace YourUsername with your actual Windows username and 3.x with your Python version. If you're modifying the System variables, you may need administrative privileges.

pip install vgamepad
pip install pyserial
(if pip is still not recognized re run the python installer, modify the install and make sure the box for "pip" is checked under Optional Features).

download/run main.py from the original github link.



After all of that, my DJI RC N1 controller is able to be seen by UNCRASHED FPV DRONE SIMULATOR.
