Yes, be careful DT! It's not only on the high seas that there are pirates! (re the price of fuel).

I can imagine,   do they tax boat fuel the same as regular fuel?   Here we used to be able to buy red diesel which was normal diesel with no tax but a red dye added.   It could be used for boats/generators etc but not cars,  thus the dye so vehicles could be checked for it.

That is a good way of looking at it.

I look at many repairs I under take like that.   And if nothing else I learn a little bit every time.

Thanks HGDC84,    it make a nice change here,   the last few days have started nicely but by the afternoon when Im free of the chores the wind tends to be peaking.

There is a guy locally that had a company spraying and repairing car body work,   due to the increase of costs,  including the tax changes on fuel he gave up the business and went mobile to save overheads.

There are quite a few companies that will come out and do minor repairs,   its quite popular,  on par with windscreen repairs.   Although all mine had to go back to the dealer for recalibrations due to all the sensors and cameras in them.

I've seen a few adverts on mobile car washes.  Even saw one that offered waterless wash.  Not sure how that would work but definitely not going to have it tried on my car.

waterless wash here is where you spray the car in detailing spray and polish it off,   it works well if the car isnt really dirty and the car has a ceramic or ppf coating.

With PPF its self healing these days.   And the detailing spray is supposed to surround the dust until the microfibre can grab it.   And its not for a dirty car,  its the sort of thing you do within a day or two of a wash usually.
