Great shot DA.  

I haven't seen many catamarans doing towing but that one doesn't seem to have any issues with towing at all.  

The side-towing indeed seems strange, but there probably are reasons for that solution, and at least in this picture it seems to work, so...

Cool shot. Strange that it tows at the side.

I have seen it towing in the traditional sense,  but that requires someone on the boat behind,  this way he can pick the boat up on his own and move it between marinas.   Also in the river like this,  if he has to stop or slow down the boat behind can easily drift to the shore.

Cheers DT.   That boat has started doing day trips out to the SS Montgomery to see the masts before they are removed.   And for a sideline they do a lot of fishing trips.

Oh there was a documentary about that on TV a while ago.  A ticking time-bomb.

If you tow behind you need someone else in that boat,  also in the river if you stop the boat behind can drift out of control,  you can only steer it after all when its moving.

So they say,   theres been an increase last summer of paddle boarders going out to it for the selfie shots that they are not happy about,   there is an exclusion zone around it.    So they are removing the masts so you cant see it anymore. Which is sad really.

I think its on a slow tick of washing up on Southend beach,   its almost a weekly occurrence to close it for a controlled explosion of something that has washed up these days.

I was browsing his pics on Facebook,  (the boat has a page) and it seems the fishing trips are very popular and they caught some good fish (not compared to Florida fish obviously. )
