The firmware updates to the RC Pro keep saying that they include Mini 3 Pro features, but the connection isn't there yet.

They are not Updates to the RC Pro firmware. They are updates to the Fly app.

Which obviously is generic across all devices.

So the new version of firmware came out today. We have updated our RC Pro, but I’m a bit concerned about this warning message?

That would seem to imply that once you have bound the RC pro to the mini 3, there is no going back to use the mini 3 smart controller?

What do we think of that?

I don't think that's the case, what the message is saying is that you should bind your Mini 3 to the RC Pro, if you then go back to using the RC you'll get the same message.

The way I read that message is that you can fly up to 5 times without binding.

I am really not sure why DJI care so much about the controller you are / were using - for those of us doing commercial work I just want to have two controllers in case one fails and/or be able to just switch between using whichever suits my requirements on the day.

Well I have to be honest I have still not used the RC Pro controller from our Mavic 3 Cine with our Mini 3.

To be honest there does not seem to be a lot of point when I have both, if like yesterday I took both drones on a job for a church survey, I used each one with its dedicated controller.

It’s actually easier that way for work.

And when I am off on my travels as I am soon, the added lightness of the Mini 3 pro controller will make it less hassle for travels of planes etc.

Here’s a shot of our Mini 3 at work yesterday, he was giving a sermon at the pulpit!

i think they should allow you to install 3rd party apps on the mini3 current controller as it would be very helpful for things to do flight area restrictions and uav weather updates i.e drone assists

Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. The DJI Mini 3 currently only supports the DJI RC and the RC-N1. We have not received any updates regarding future compatibility. We will record your feedback and forward it to our designated team. Please continue to stay tuned for the latest updates on our DJI Official Website (www.dji.com). Thank you, and have a nice day.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. DJI Mini 3 Pro currently supports two remote controllers - DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller and DJI RC. However, we will love to take this suggestion of yours and will forward it to our designated team for attention. Thank you for your valued support!

Has this been implemented yet?

I need this promptly, I broadcast indoors with the mini 3 pro and it needs better streaming support because there is no other lightweigt and small drone.

There should be support for RC PRO to all high end drones.

Thanks Dji, sincerely Touko Parpola

Hello there. Yes. The Mavic 3 Pro supports DJI RC. You can use one controller for both drones but you need to bind them every time you switch. If you have further concerns, please reach us. Have a nice day.
