Acting on reliable information yesterday, we anticipated seeing the Royal Scot steam engine pulling a 10 coach train through our village.
Despite a wait of over an hour in pouring rain, we had no luck. Gave up and went home.
These are just a few clips of the trains we did see, for @Montfrooij.

Wow, lots of trains Mr. B.    Was your intel on the Royal Scot faulty?  Or could be it was delayed by hours or a day or two.  Anyway, great effort.

Thanks RDB.  The Intel was correct when published, but an unforseen hold-up en route caused a delay of over an hour. I spent the time filming other trains, so the morning wasn't a dead loss. But departed for home before the main event

My wise old grandmother used to say - Live each day as if it were your last.  That was a life motto that she lived by.  She died at 103 years old and had a smile on her face when she went.

I was once told by a wise old college professor that tombstones all have a date, then a dash, then a date.  Of course the first date is the date we were born and the last date is the date we die.  He reminded us that we can only control, for the most part, what we do with the "dash" in between.  I'm doing my best to enjoy the "dash" and prolonging the end date.

Yes, pitty, but the lenses on the lens are great ... otherwise I really like trains, so he saw me nicely.
And I intend to shoot some video with trains in the future ...

It's an expression that evolved from a conversation with the kids last year about end-of-life.
I introduced the idea as a note of levity to lighten the mood.
