Are the 'how long ago a post was made in a thread' time stamps wrong

At various times I have noticed quite a few the say, for example,  10 minutes ago and when I look at the actual thread the last post was hours ago.
Case in point, looking at the "Mavic" forum I see that the last change in the "Which Mini 3 pro will you buy or have bought" thread was made "2 hours ago" but when I open that thread the post was made "

This is due to the survey. The "last time" also shows the last survey choice. Many choose but don't comment.

Ah, I wondered if such things influenced the timestamp, thanks.

I wonder what ro_flyer got banned for?

Very strange, he’s normally a good contributor, I think it might be a mistake.

I had/have that impression too.
The only thing I did notice  was that there was a fair number of, I think, consecutive new threads started by him either yesterday or early today. But he was banned by the time I saw them so I didn't look at them, yet others have opened many more such consecutive new threads without punishment.

I think it said it was auto ban for too many posts.
