Yup, I got the update this morning as well.

RC Pro just finished update the fly app but the mini 3 does not show in camera view, only Air2S and Mavic 3.

Fly App updated to V1.6.1.  Mini 3 Pro now shows on this version of Fly but with no Mini 3 Pro in hand I can't tell if it is compatible with the RC Pro.

I doubt it, the mini does not show up in the app so I doubt it will connect. Mine arrives tomorrow so I can test then if it works.

That’s what I expected.   The same thing happened with the Mavic 3 and the smart controller.  They are just generic release notes.

Yup, looks to be. Maybe because it was an Android update meant for phones it got pushed to the RC Pro as well.

I’d bet my smart controller says the same thing.  


After seeing the <2000m range of the new controller I do hope the rcpro is updated quickly.

Yep.  It needs a firmware update not just a fly app update. Not the first time they did this.  

What is the location? Might help to NOT hold the controller vertically. I'd take this video with a grain of salt.

51 drones posted the other day saying it will not be supported. He gets review units from DJI do he may have more info than most.   But also know the orginal  smart controller last year got a fly app update to support Mavic 3 but it still not supported.

too early to tell but if it's true, you'll prob see a few screen rc controllers for sale; id rather just use the rc pro

He posted that, but went on to say it was only his opinion not based on any background knowledge.

oh and btw, in my estimation a screen rc with limited range is worth maybe $200 in the free market imo and maybe even less if the r1 has no such limitation.

True.  But opinions tend to be set with  information.   The question is what’s he heard to come to

I asked him that very question and he has no information , he just said it was just his opinion.

For Android and iOS :

- Added support for DJI Mini 3 Pro.
- DJI Air 2S now supports taking photos in RAW format. Aircraft firmware needs to be updated to latest version.

Just to be clear, I think folks are misreading the message. After reading this thread, I went and tried it, and even assumed it was compatible until later in the process. Then I more closely read the firmware update message on the RC Pro.

It's confusing given it's showing up on the RC Pro, but it technically says the Mini 3 is compatible with the DJI RC and RC-N1, not the RC Pro). See attached.

And sure enough, once you get into the pairing screen, only the Mavic 3 and Air 2S show up. And yes, I tried choosing both of those and going into pairing mode on the Mini 3, no luck.

Yes but his point is, the update is coming up on the “RcPro” but the update is about the the mini 3 being compatible with “DJI RC” and “RC-N1” So some might mistake the update for mini 3 with “RC Pro”

Only compatible with DJI RC and Rc n1 controller.   The rc pro would need a firmware update for new drone support.

My guess is that those of us with the RC Pro easily understand the meaning of the release notes. They apply to the app and as stated, the compatible hardware.

Why would they word it like that, makes no sense to me, what does added support mean, why say that if its not for that remote lol crazy....

Gonna be mighty hacked off if the RC Pro doesn't get an update to work with the Mini 3. Cannot see any reason why it couldn't especially if they are making the new RC work with the Mavic 3. Maybe they are waiting to see how sales go on the new RC package

It is so sad that DJI hobbles it’s stuff just to get sales of other stuff. We need some clever geek to cut through all this BS and release jail breaks……… x DJI programmer perhaps……….. good crowd funding opportunity

It appears the Mini 3 Pro will **NOT** work with the RC Pro controller.
