No going to pay $35 for shipping. Going to wait till they show up on Amazon or ones from the other usual DJI vendor shows up.

Hello there hallmark007. Good day and thank you for sharing these information with us.  Just a reminder that DJI does not recommend you to use 3rd party accessories like ND filters on the new DJI Mini 3 Pro. These 3rd party accessories might affect the gimbal and the camera of DJI drone when in use. There is a possibility that these 3rd party ND Filters will be able work. However, since it's not tested by DJI we cannot guaranteed the stability of the said 3rd party accessories if it will work all the time with no issues and might void the warranty of your DJI Mini 3 Pro. Thank you.

As Freewell has proved their reliability on several DJI products i see no issue for the Mini 3 Pro.

There’s a big difference between it might void and it will void your guarantee.
But as a DJI staff, it’s normal to take that stance of view
(There are thousands of drones out there flying with dozens of different filters brands, and very few complains!)

Thanks for sharing. Freewell are good on drones, some filters might scratch your osmo pocket lenses though

What about the weight? With these filters on the mini 3, is the weight still <259gr?

Well if it does it will be no more than a gram, so I suppose its like driving 43mph in a 40 mph zone, its very much excusable. Having attended many EASA seminar its was a given that tolerances would be built in. So although it says 40 mph doing 43 mph would be seen as within the tolerance levels and although we won’t ever know what these might be there has to be common sense applied on both sides, expect to be ok 2 grams overweight but 30 grams is taking a liberty .

With the filters remember you will be removing the lens guard on the front of your camera to fit the filter so you will be sound.

Its a peculiar set of filters, and twice the price of a company that makes filters. I think 8/16/32 will be most used filters and ND1000 for specialty photos.

I ordered mine too, actually 2 sets to have free express shipping. I will resale one set in my country to someone needing it.
I've asked freewell about the availability from resellers (like amazon) and they said it will take a bit longer so preordering was no-brainer for me

I was excited to see this!
However, I found it odd that they didn't bring out a pack with ND/PL combo filters like Air 2s.

I'm holding out to see if they're going to release variable ones just like PolarPro.

The selection is rather limited but I imagine the 256 is useful in bright sunlight given the wide aperture of the lens. Not sure how useful the 16 is, though…

Don’t think 256 will be suitable for filming , usually on bright days ND 16 ND 32 and very seldom ND 64. The lens is 2 stops brighter than 1” sensor but the sensor is smaller so it doesn’t need any more light blocked out than a 1” sensor.

On a bright sunny day I use a 64 ND filter with my Mini 2 and it’s barely enough to bring the shutter speed down to 1/50s, so ai have to disagree.

All I can say I have never seen a day so bright that you would need 8 stops of light 256 nd to get a shutter speed of 1/50s. But hey I don’t live in Finland. You will know best.

I actually think the DJI set will be perfect. 6 stops (ND 64) will cover most sunny conditions and 4 stops (ND16) is normally spot on for bright cloudy days. The ND 256 is 8 stops which is only two more than the ND64 and will certainly have uses if a little less common.
I just hope we can get hold of them soon, I was flying the Mini Pro 3 at 1/4000 shutter today and it looks nasty!

10 stop is only used for special photography photos IE long exposure, but usually you would have to buy these separate so as part of the deal its pretty good to have them.

A quick check of the midday sun in the UK just now, my camera gave f/2.8, 1/6000th, ISO 200 which is the equivalent to f/1.7, 1/8000, ISO 100.

I don't have much experience with ND filters but wouldn't an ND 128 (7-stops) or ND 256 (8-stops) be useful to bring that down to 1/60th? (If you wanted to film at midday)

I think only using them under the conditions you fly in will confirm what it is you will actually use. I for one don’t usually film in the middle of the day and using drones with fixed Aperture,  ND8/ND16 were always enough to get SS of 1/60th 1/120th. Probably 75% of the time nothing is moving in my footage so very little need for any filters. If your filming is done in the middle of the day you may need ND 128 not sure if you will use ND 256 for general filming.

Yeah, however, I'd hazard a guess that the majority of those prepared to faff about with NDs, are not likely to be capturing their footage in that sort of light in the first place.

I finally got my DJI ND filter set for my Mini 3 Pro and can confirm that on a partly cloudy day, the 256 ND filter isn't too dark. I got a perfect exposure with it at ISO 200, 25 fps and 1/50s shutter speed (180-degree shutter rule). I imagine ISO 100 would be reachable on a completely clear day, but have not been able to test that yet.
