Yeah, I fully checked out his references and ran a full background check.  He got outstanding reviews from the previous boats he worked on.

He came highly recommended from a very close friend.  Originally, my son-in-law was coming on the trip but he just switched jobs to a different cybersecurity company and could no longer take a long vacation.  That would have been great as he recently qualified for his Captain's license.

Thats a shame,    shame he couldn't have just done the two journeys to help you out and flown back in the mean time.

Yeah, it was a shame.  

But he just couldn't get off for 3-4 straight weeks, especially being the newest employee and this company just got a multi-million dollar contract that they needed several experienced employees to commence work immediately.  He has lots of upward mobility in this company so I was happy for him.

Life goes on and I'll just keep on revising my excursion dates.
