Why is my transmission range so short?

Hi everyone,
I have a DJI FPV.

In the spec, it says: 10 km (FCC), 6 km (CE), 6 km (SRRC), 6 km (MIC)

I also see in many reviews on YouTube that people fly the drone quite far.

I'm usually flying in city conditions, and the maximum I can normally get is 500 meters until I start losing the picture in my goggles.
700 meters if I'm really lucky.

Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?

You probably get interference of all the city dwellers' WLAN. I'd try it outside. And also you have to have line of sight for best transmission.

Yep, I always try to have direct line of sight. So is it normal - 500-700 meters in a dense city?

It should be normal from all the interference

Hello there DP2021. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Can you please fly your DJI FPV to a different location to see if the issue will still persist? The said DJI drone might have picked up magnetic interference on the ground, and you took off from close to a buildings with rebar concrete metal objects on it. That might be the reason why you are experiencing these issues. In addition please make sure that the antennas are pointed toward the aircraft for optimal transmission. Thank you.

I've never flown in a dense city. Virtually all my flying has been in a rural canyon.

In some directions my maximum range is limited to about 5 meters. Not by signal loss; by granite...
