Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has heard rumours about when the DJI RC controller will be compatible with the DJI Air 2s?
I purchased the Mini 3 Pro last week and used the RC controller for the first time outdoors and it was great!
The brightness was adequate and it was so good to just have one controller. It actually felt more discreet.

I'm hoping that within weeks not months!!

Would be nice if DJI made it compatible with the Air 2S.  Would be even better if DJI made the DJI RC Pro controller that I already have compatible with the Mini3P.

What would be really nice is if they used the 1000 nit screens with the new controller only for Air 2S owners but still keep the price down.  That would really help continue to drive new purchases of the Air 2S.  If DJI is smart they will keep some features exclusive to the Air 2S.  Otherwise, everyone will just give up and go for the cheaper drone since it's 90% of what the Air 2S can do.

Agree, and this is much more likely to happen.

It's now compatible with Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 cine . As of today's FW update .

That update is for the RC pro and not the RC.
Not sure why DJI called the controller that comes with the Mini 3 Pro the 'RC' not something like RCs.

Like every corporation, DJI markets things for profit. Making things cross-compatible is possible, pending the internal signals technology is compatible. However, it forces massive changes in the way they would need to market things, It creates massive costs to conduct real-world testing and pay those lovely software engineers lots of $$$ to write specialized code for each device.  All the while, DJI is on the hook for anything that goes south as an oversight. Can they do it, sure. Should they do it, sure. However, ask yourself is it profitable? Yes, but it requires a restructure of the way they do business, testing, software, advertising, and so on. I don't think in the age of COVID, they would be in a rush. YES, I hope they do. I am so damn tired of hooking up my iphone that overheats or overcools and the screen blanks out. The iPhone is incapable of dealing with Florida heat and the norths frozen temps. Wow, the landscape is so worth the trouble but YES! Bring on the cheap compatible controllers and kiss my tush if you think I will spend $1500 on a "smart/pro" controller. It's not worth it.

I was going to get the RC Pro controller by itself then I heard the Mini 3 Pro was going to be released, so I got that instead. I'm hoping that it won't be long, as the RC controller is now being sold by itself and compatibility with the Mavic 3 is now available.

That’s the RC Pro controller. It’s the big brother to the RC controller.

Same here.

I would be delighted if DJI would at least report if they plan to have the RC support the Air2s ultimately. They don’t have to say “when”. But at least let us know what to expect. If the RC will not eventually be compatible with the Air2s, then if we know that, we can move on. Some of us might buy the RC Pro, and some of us will continue to fly our great aircraft as we have been, without yearning for the RC.

But if I knew that compatibility was coming , I might purchase the RC now, and beat all of the other Air2s owners to buying this controller!

It’s confirmation that they will make it compatible with the Air 2S…..timeframe would be nice but at least we know they are planning on making it compatible …: )

Well, it's unlikely next week with the launch of the new FPV drone but anything can happen!!

I don't think DJI is in a hurry to make this happen. They'd rather you buy the $1200 RC PRo!

I was thinking the same thing, but have my fingers crossed since a lot of updates come out on Tuesdays and the Avata release is Thursday.

Just some fun facts...

The RC Pro release around 5th Nov 2021.
The Air 2S was supported 24th Jan 2022.
So just under 3 months...

Let's hope it's soon then...

I know I power up my rc every morning to see if there's an update. I bought the new RC hoping it would be compatible soon. I couldn't see paying almost the same price as the drone for the RC Pro. The Air 2s and the RC are a perfect combo.

It is not understood why JDI does not rule on this issue. It is so difficult for them to say whether or not it will be compatible. I find it disrespectful to customers. In a few days I will return it, before the return period ends

Yea waiting here too! i got the RC in the hopes it will work with Air 2 s soon!

Their product support is obviously people they hire just to sit in front of a computer and that know absolutely nothing about their products.

Some support people don't even know that it is compatible with Mavic 3, they are like robots directing you to their official page. Something sad
