Hi, I'll get stright to it.
The problem:
Video recoded files in D-cinelike h264 (4K 30fps) end up corrupted. The only way I can play them is by using VLC player.
Other programs spit out 0xc1010103 error. DaVinci Resolve dosen't see the files!

Testing the problem:
Recording the files after formating the memory card in the drone - files are still corrupted.
Using diferent memory card - the same, negative result.
Recording the videos using the build in drones memory - files are still corrupted.
Restarting the drone in order to "close down recorded files -  nope, didn't worked.

When the problem dosen't acurre:
Recording the video in standar mode.
Recording in D-cinelike h265.

Aditional information:
I'm using the latest firmware for the day of 24.05.2022
Tested memory cards: Kingston Canvas Go! Plus 128GB and Lexar 1066x

My questions:
Is it something that can and will be resolved in an firmware update?
If its an internal software error, can it be rest to an factory settings?
Do You (other Mavic Mini Pro users) have this problem as well?

I had the same issue,   seems 10bit h264 is not very compatible,  I switched over to h265 and the footage is good.

is there any way of recovering the h264 d-cinelike files?  I have copied them off sd card, they play on the RC controller but not the laptop (windows 10/11).

There's probably a way to recover or convert them but at what cost/agro I don't know.

Just for info, the D-Cinelike H.264 files won't open in Quicktime on my Mac either, but Premiere Pro is happy enough to import them.

Just by logic, if VLC can play the files, they are not corrupt.
It is more that the codec container is not supported by the applications.
It is the same issue with H265 codec. Only a few applications are able to play this codec.

In the end i purchased videoproc for £22.  I was able to convert to hevc and use inside davinci.  Set my mini 3 to h265 from now on

Did the same. But still. The issue with  h264 needs to be addressed.

From my research it may not be the drone at fault,  but the editing software out there.

Interesting fact: After converting it in VLC into the same format (profile: 'Video - H.264 + MPs (MP4)' ) it works in DaVinci Resolve 18.0.1 as well! I did a quick test, I assume the video lost some quality.

I had the same issue with DaVinci Resolve and my iMac not playing back the h.264 4k30 D-Cinelike profile footage. So I used the video proc converter as mentioned above (was able to use the free version as my files were under 5 mins in length) and converted into h.265 HVEC and now work on all.

Noted now for further usage that I will be filming in h.265 setting on the RC controller.

Hi,

This is a really out-there possibility.
What are the file extensions of each of the files? Someone gave me a USB once with videos that have just stopped working and when we changed the file extension to .mp4 they worked. For some reason, the file extensions just dropped off, and it was not recognisable by QuickTime, yet playable on VLC.

I'm having same issue and I tried to use adobe media enconder and handbreak but when doing so and encoding to h.265 I'm loosing 90% is file size. I tried few files 110mb to 9mb, 550mb to 56mb and I'm really suspicious why there is so much file size lost. Have you observed similar issue?
