In the hope of getting a more durable and with ExpressLRS longer range quad I bought the HGLRC Sector 5D 6S HD 1900 kV version. Took a long time to ship (motors weren't easily available).
So unbox, pair the new controller (Radiomaster Zorro), test flight.
So far I like the flying less than my Rekon 5 because the Sector is more twitchy. I guess I'll get used to it - or maybe change the tune.
It feels very sturdy. Video signal range so far is worse - maybe get a different antenna.
The upside: It has a lot of power and a lot of room for battery and full size GoPro. Even works okay (but not great) with a 2200 mAh 6S.
The downside: no buzzer (WTF?), my GPS doesn't work (and the first real crash killed a motor and (probably) the ESC. Can't find the fault yet.

Once it works again I will have to fly it more - maybe be less afraid of crashing.

If the handling characteristics are different to what you've become used to. I guess it will be a question of learning new muscle-memory for the stick movements?

Probably. Maybe just get a bit more subtle on the sticks which isn't a bad thing anyway. But I guess I could tweak the settings as well. I think I'd notice the different characteristics and adapt to a second set of muscle memory. Have to do that anyway with the different drones.

Shame about the issues Depp.  Cool looking quad.  Definitely has the power and the GoPro fits nicely.  Maybe 2nd time around will be without a crash.

DIdn't buy it not to crash - on the contrary, bought it to have something I could crash while trying to learn to fly better, more aggressive, more daring.
And it's a bit of a shame that the first serious crash kills it without my seeing the faulty part.
But I'll spot whining now (and hopefully start flying soon)!

Now that's a goal to shoot for - more aggressive and more daring.  I have no doubt you'll meet and exceed that goal.

Yeah, what can you do?
It is quick - once the GPS works I'll have a number.
At least I was able to solder a buzzer to it and it actually works.

Well crashing definitely hurts but I know you'll figure it out and soon will be a professional.
