Is anyone else seeing this problem?
On the Pano mode (in this case wide angle, the 3x3) when its going off to the side im getting a slanted horizon on the images.

The end result of this is the DNGs themselves are seriously slanted so  merging them together in post results in a very curved image which is  unusable.

Previous drone behaviour the horizon stayed level so stitching was fine.

It makes this mode pretty much unusable.

(and yes, gimbal is calibrated and normally level, it only happens in pano mode. No tilt elsewhere)

Is it necessary to switch the gimbal/lens assembly from Landscape to Portrait orientation for this operation?

No.
Pano mode doesn't work at all in portrait for some reason.
This is in landscape.  Others seem to be doing the same.
Ultimately it means the pano mode is pretty much unusable as it produces raw images that cant be correctly stitched.

i have no issues. just stitched one 360 pano and it is perfect. the wide was always like that, you have to correct it or stitch it in ptgui or other software that can fix the horizon.

Not 360s.  That's fine with curvature. Necessary even.

Problem is on the 3 x 3 (not checked 180) its producing slanted images which manually stitch into horrible curved panos.

None of the other 4 DJI drones ive used have ever had slanted panos as raw images.

Try starting with the camera horizontal rather than looking down.
Recent models do things differently from the way older models did it.

That's disappointing, to say the least

Yep its a change in behaviour.

If you centre the horizon first it doesn't tilt.  The problem only occurs up or down from centre.
The Phantom and Mavic series automatically centred the horizon first before shooting.

Also the wide 5 x 3 DOES centre the horizon first so otherwise just use that mode and pick the images wanted from there.

Very good to know, thanks!
