I found this Range test done by someone. The Mini 3 Pro is amazing for its size. This seems to be the second drone so far that i have no complaints about, the Air2S and now the Mini3Pro. I would really recomend this drone. Very stable until Dji decides to mess the FW up

Suren, I sure hope that DJI will not mess up the FW.  If the Mini3P is as reliable as the Air 2S I'll be super happy.

  Well, there are range tests done all over YouTube showing poor results for the mini3 and in one case a guy flying over trees not getting more than 300 yards.
  It could be the controller. Perhaps the controller with the cellphone will work better.

It could be the controller - or it could be poor choice of take-off point.  Flying over trees has it's risks.

Well then he is wrong look at that video again you will clearly see that both Mini 2 and Mini 3 both suffered from interference known by Ian “@300 meters. So that video simply explains that interference will affect all drones. You’ll notice poster said 300 yards.

Trust me you will be. You know I am rarely happy but this drone is amazing as it is. Even if Dji does not add any new features to it, it is still a great drone.

I have seen alot of those and although the post above is not mine I did get exceptional range on my Mini 3 and I am not complaining about it. For this tiny drone to do what it is doing is great.

Quite……..Unfortunatly as You Tubers get bigger and bigger they earn from their channel and will sometimes post anything and sensationalise to get subs and clicks. I it sad but a fact of life I am afraid

In other words YouTube bloggers are amateur version of your typical major outlet News talking heads.  

The range is a bit worst with the new RC but, either way, the VLOS which is legal can be achieved easily and this is what counts.

Dunno if that really is the video previously mentioned but seemed to fit the description.  I'm sure you're not going to split hairs between 300 yards and 300 metres.

If you watch said vid, although both manage the 300m, notice how the signal becomes degraded at around 200m on the Mini 3?

Thats the trouble, I can't reliably keep a signal at 350m urban with my Mini 3.  Which is why in that respect, its a disappointment compared to the Mini 2.

I think the author of that video clearly explained about the interference at that point and how it affects all his drones big and small. If you could post similar showing what you are experiencing then it might be clearer, but it seems anyone who has actually went to the bother of posting comparable videos show almost identical results, and this is what I would expect from drones using similar radio signals.

I have the same problem.............. in urban erea i loose signal at 300M ( Europe ).

Exactly!  I noticed that right away.....   

Is this in CE on the screened remote? It looks like FCC to me.

Did it bomb out at that distance or was the old chocolate starfish nipping it a bit so ya turned back, as the landing was at 26% it would have given another 500m at least and prob back with at least 10%.

Either way, that beats my 5514m with the Mini 2 at 17m to 27m high to the turning point, with 100% signal still, and it was under decent fog and it landed at 11% and that was in FCC so i would be very surprised if this is CE, i am also surprised it hit 37mph, that's faster than book speed...

Why is the date and time blocked out? not sure what difference that makes?

Yes it is CE with Screen RC. I am sure the pilot does not want to get into trouble hence he blocked his info.

Its been documented by no end of people who actually own the device and have had it in their hands since launch.  I don't need to fill up this site with yet more pointless videos.

Today I went on the mountain with Mini 3 and M3 and 700 m away Mini 3 lost connection and RTH - M3, on the other hand, had no issues at all going the same way - I was with RC-N1

Better in what way, distance? Probably isnt now that the mini 3 has proven 9km with the plus battery is possible in FCC though, but i think, it did 6k in CE, thats about the same as the Mini 2

I've told you many times I have had frequent disconnections at less than 350m, but never, ever, ever have had that on the Mini 2.

I own a Mini 3. I have it on the bench right here.  Yours turned up yet?

Now I have also had great range off it as well, in line with what the Mini 2 can handle in the same location on the same flight path.  But it is far less consistent, making it a complete lottery.

Now I'm not vain enough to record my controller screen, so I have no screen shots of mine disconnecting.

I owned all 3 minis, again Ill repeat I nor anyone else here has seen this what now sounds like a phenomenon that the Mini 2 has much more range than the Mini 3. Usually this would be posted here and if not here YT. But all videos I’ve seen on YT show almost identical range urban but less for Mini 3 rural . But Im sure if its a thing we will see it posted soon.
