It seems the "brick" or adapter to charge the battery is proprietary (unique). And the battery itself is "smart" with special requirements that makes it not possible or advisable to recharge with a portable power bank. Understandable so far.

But is there any other workaround for recharging when you're out in the field? Why won't DJI sell an adapter to take power from 3rd party portable power banks with standard USB port? Sure it would preclude sales of extra DJI batteries, but com'on.

I was looking at the information about Mavic3 here at DJI, and in it it says that you CAN use a power bank with it.  Think it was in the "FAQ" area, not sure.

I hope that our fellow DJI co pilots can give out what potable charger they are using to charge there DJI intelligent flight batteries when they are out in the field and can give out the best recommendation with regards to this matter as well. Thank you.

Boo, super moderator DJI Stephen. You’re replying but not going to help?

No explanation or excuse as to why DJI isn’t selling some kind of adapter? No confirmation of its absence?

Not even a link to the FAQ mentioned in the other reply?

Booo. You might as well not reply.

There is nothing 'unique' about the charging adapter, it is simply a power supply, and nothing more. It does not even satisfy the description of a charger. All the charging smarts are in the batteries themselves, so all you need to do is supply a voltage sufficient to create charging conditions, and the battery will look after the rest.

The only reason a normal power bank will not work is that the vast majority of them output about 5.1 volts DC, and the Mavic batteries need aroound 12 to 13 volts to charge them (they are an 11 volt battery in the Air2S for example). If you can find a power bank that supplies 13 volts, then it would work.

But one issue is that not all Mavic aircraft use the same battery, the Mavic 3 Pro uses a 7.38 volt battery, and requires about 8.5 volts to charge.

Thank you. They call it “intelligent” but OK I’ll look for a 13V charger/powerbank. Then maybe fabricate the connector.

Most power banks (otherwise known as compact chargers) charge by means of a USB port, just interface your gadget to the USB port and start charging. Some portable power station banks accompany a link, or an assortment of links, that are separable. This makes it simple to switch between links for your iPad, your Samsung telephone, or other gadget.https://www.bougerv.com/collections/power-station

Seems we're not talking about the same thing. The key problem is the unique adapter or connector.

He is speaking of a car charger or a specific power charging adapter that can charge from a power source to the battery.

No. I'm speaking of recharging with a power bank (or maybe directly from car cig lighter) when there's something too unique about the DJI adapter brick. Namely, the uniqueness is the plastic adapter if not the internal circuitry.
And therefore, the question is how? Why won't DJI offer at least the plastic adapter so customers can fabricate their own brick with proper power?
