Hello there patrick51. Good day and thank you for sharing this interesting video with us. Just a friendly reminder that DJI do not recommend doing this process on your new DJI Mini 3 Pro and it's remote controller, these process can damage and void the warranty of your DJI Mini 3 Pro and it's remote controller. Thank you.

Hi, i didnt learn anything from them regards to the antenna, we know they are there, we know they are directional, anything else they said was just speculative. But, the idea of antenna mods are pleasing for sure, it lookds like its something that would be fairly straight forward to do, so looking forward to some videos on that later in the year...

Nice find.   The internal antennas do look quite small.  It doesn't seem like going to internal antennas would be that big of a cost savings, but then only DJI know how much it saves per unit.

Where are the drone antennae shown? I gave up waiting for them.
At least we now know they are in they are in the front legs and not in those bumps of the undercarriage.
The dismantler was a bit ham fisted, vicely caved in chip cover, plus there is a knack to getting the rear arm pivots out without force and the actual pivots flying all over the plac., 5 minutes on google would find videos showing how it is done eith the front arms of the likes of the other minis or the Mavic 2 Pro/zoom

Hello everybody,
I know well that I avoid the guarantee but those who know me like to change things.
Here is the modification I just made to the DJI RC.

Sorry DJI but this time I don't like how you did the antennas. Yes, I know they work but not like the RC-N1 set and vertically polarized antennas in previous drones.

Very very interesting! And will you get better signal/connection with this setup?
Can't wait to hear what your findings will be.

I have watched it again closely and yep, it looks like each arm has one antenna cable, well spotted.

The signal is really strong yes. I can't talk about this due to usage laws in VLOS.

In any case, I'd like to understand what kind of polarization they used on the antennas of the drone's arms.
It appears to me that the polarization is only horizontal and this can create problems in some contexts particularly full of radiofrequency.
To be sure, I should see how the antennas are made inside the drone's arms.
Maybe someone who has already broken them due to a crash can open them and show me inside.

This would explain why the DJI MINI 3's signal impressions are so mixed from person to person.

Another problem that I have not mentioned in the video is that for some reason, the amplifier stage of the drone (IE1000?), could fail not only in the presence of wifi signals but also of disturbances of any other type ... and this would explain the problems in some rural areas.
Each case should be analyzed to be sure.
My drone was not able to send it into crisis, so I could not make direct measurements.

I have prepared a video in which I explain this problem, it is in Italian but you can use English subtitles.

Very interesting, maybe they did this to ensure the best compatibility with the previous gen with a future update, but in this case they should include 2 antennas and use the most appropriate after pairing the RC with the drone.
Have you tried flying with your mod ? is there a noticeable difference ?edit : one thing I noticed in the specs, the Air 2S and the mavic 3 use their antennas in 2T4R while the Mini 3 Pro says 1T2R, could it be a contributing factor to lower signal quality ?

The drone, from the radio point of view, should not be compared with Air2s or Mavic3 but at most with the Mini2 or Air2.
Surely with an external and more performing antenna, the signal improves.

I agree with you. Below is my project. The first is set up horizontally with the mini 3, the second is vertical with the mavic 3. The third is the parking position. The range tested at ground level is 8 km, with CE. DJI did not lie here;)

It's what you mean by ergonomic...if you mean "looks" then you don't understand the definition of ergonomics.
These mods are pure for functionality...it may change/look like a pig or an aerodynamic rocket...it does what it suppose to do.
