Taking a different path for my walk today led me to a civic amenity I'd been unaware of until today - the Community Orchard.
And surveying the quiet spot was this beautiful Owl sculpture. His name is on a small plaque at the base  SCRUMPY

And the view from his perch.

Great spot, and a skillfully-sculpted one. It's amazing how you manage to find  - or get found by - these interesting and stunning totems. One day they'll probably wait you in your living room

Yes I know Shining Tor. It's above Errwood Hall ruins which I filmed some time ago.
And the two reservoirs just to the northeast of it figure occasionally in my posts.
The road closed  due to landslip is just to the right of those reservoirs on the map.

I did walk the Kerridge Edge to White Nancy though (Bollington)

I access the Ridge from Rainow, climbing Northwest up Kerridge Ridge and then continue to White Nancy before dropping steeply down into Bollington.

I see you caught it when it was fresh painted,    seems they use that as a blank canvas for all sorts.  Probably Jubilee themed at the moment.

Could be.  It's refreshed fairly regularly.
There's a Trig point part way along the Ridge which someone had painted white with the St.George red cross on it when I was up there.

Seems to be a Mecca for graffiti too I see from google images.
