Odd question here--is there a reason DJI switched from the "female" sticks on the DJI Mini 2 to the "male" sticks on the Mini 3 Pro RC?  I'm talking about the thumb control sticks and how they screw in.  It seems as though the new design may be more susceptible to damage because the screw threads are exposed on the remote whereas before they were recessed.

Precisely the reason why I put my sticks on from brand-new and won’t remove them at all because I agree it’s far easier to strip the thread on the controller which would unfortunately render the controller useless and be forced to be sent in for repair. It's a very unnecessary change in the way the sticks are attached to the controller.

How do you keep the remote in a case if you do that?  What kind of case do you use?

I ordered two different cases on amazon.  Neither of them will hold the remote without removing the sticks.

I think the change is simply to stop us using any spare sticks we have from other drones and make money on the sale of spare sticks.

I am using the MA2 bag and I can leave the sticks on with that

Hopefully the threads are steel and the sticks are aluminium so the damage should occur to the sticks not the threads.

I have wondered about that, I know it's a bit cynical to think such a thing but....
If you are leaving the sticks on in a bag it might be an idea to rig up some sort of holder/shield that will protect them, otherwise you might end up damaging their gimbals.

because there are lots of copies of the original sticks and DJI were not selling their own?

Those look good. How do they attach to the controller?

Looks like its 3D printed. Anyone have an STL file for something similar that we can print?
I like the concept

They actually are held in place by the top of the sticks.

If you are going to faff about with those you might as well take the sticks on and off

They are super easy to take off and put on.  Keeps from having to screw/unscrew the sticks and possibly cross-threading them.

Thanks for sharing your personal opinion.

I'm waiting for Sunnylife to sell one of these Sticks and screen protectors for the RC controller. I have this for my Smart Controller and it works great.

It was never an issue on the Mavic Mini, although those treads are a bit more recessed on the controller.

Quite easily. Right-side up or upside down.

I think the GPC case will let you put the remote in the case face down with the sticks on. I'll know for sure on Wednesday.
