I went to a local beach for a quick fly, assuming no one would be around. Turns out that a couple of guys were testing a UAV and asked me to get some footage.
This beast was impressive! They were operating with full permissions for BVLOS, and had the drone circling around 5km off the coast of Western Australia. The zoom on the camera was insane, the range was about 15km, and the flight time was around 2 hours.
Here's the take off to 30m, and then accellerating away. I ended up in sport mode trying to pursue the UAV, but it was a lot quicker than my Air 2s!

Astounding. What a lucky happenstance to meet up like that. I see that their craft had the speed and range to escape you easily
Man that’s so cool, I’ve currently been watching a lot of videos of VTOL fixed wing drones as I really want one but all the ones that I’ve found that are pretty good compared to Dji quality are all past 10k. Yeah it’s understandable of the price but hopefully with Dji expanding there fleet of aerial drones recently in the past year or two will come out with a fixed wing drone!
