With the release of the Mini 3 Pro, we've now got a long-endurance drone with nearly no restrictions on city flying, which packs some seriously good technology.
In my opinion DJI should be seriously considering releasing a swarm drone show. Given that they have the lightweight drones, experience building really good software and an SDK which people are already using to swarm the Tello drone.


By removing the camera and OA from the Mini 3 Pro, there would be enough spare mass to add a high power RGB LED and diffuser.

The current swam systems on the market are eye-wateringly expensive and seem somewhat rudimentary. There are plenty of smaller companies wanting to get in on this new 21st century phenomena and it seems that DJI could be the answer to making this affordable and easily scalable using their drones.

Thoughts?!

How many would they sell is probably a big part of the equation.  The US Market would be very slim because of the need to get a COA to do this.

We have something similar in the UK, which is an OSC. Anyone flying swarms needs this. My hope would be that DJI selling this would entice new companies to get involved. I would certainly look to integrate it into my business if it was at the right price point and offered a fairly intuitive design and deploy process.

I don't think that this is anything more specialist than the Agras drones. It might be a small market, but it's an expensive one. I'd imagine a swarm of 250 Mini 3's and software would be in the hundreds of thousands, but for smaller shows it might be more affordable and perhaps something that someone could buy 20-50 drones and then buy packs of more to add in the future if they're able to turn a profit from what they've got.

Interesting idea.    A lot of mid-size countries could take advantage of this.  

Well makes sense to me.  And yeah, if it could be done reasonably, I am all-in.  : )
