Main issue: When Mini 3 Pro is turned on and stationary it escalates to overheating.

                    Question: How are we supposed to use the 'Quick Transfer Mode' via the DJI Fly App if the Mini 3 Pro is always overheating?

                     Possible solutions:   •Platform that blows air into the mini 3 while stationary(more bulk)
                                                      •Ability to use the micro SD card from the Mini 3 in the RC controller so that we can review the files on the beautiful RC screen.(No additional equipment needed)
                 
                      Feedback: Users in the forum may suggest that the Micro SD card used/recorded in the Mini 3 can be used in a card reader connected to a desktop/tablet/phone...this is not the outcome needed to keep the system minimal while out in the field. Also, some files are encoded and cannot be viewed with said desktop/tablet/phone.

Just a friendly reminder that the DJI Mavic 3 Pro does not have a fan, so it uses the heat sink on the bottom of the DJI drone to dissipate heat. After the DJI Mini 3 Pro is powered on and kept on a flat surface ( such as ground or a desk ) for a while, the heat dissipation will be affected, as the surface is close to the heat sink. In this case, the DJI drone should be turned off and kept idle for a while to drop its temperature before using it again. In addition I hope that our fellow DJI co pilots who owns the DJI Mini 3 Pro can share there valued insights with regards to this matter. Thank you.

Are you trying to charge at the same time as quick transfer as thats the only time I've found mine to get warm.

• The battery cannot be charged if the aircraft is powered on.

Thats odd as Ive done QT and charged a number of times now and even did the firmware update that way.

I saw these on ebay. They look a bit jerry rigged but they might work.

I have been letting the props idle and this gives enough airflow to keep the mini 3 friends m having to be turned off.

Just received my new Mini Pro 3 drone yesterday and charged the controller's and the drone's batteries. In setting up the controller and drone today, the drone has been shut off 3 times due to overheating (per error messages on RC). The temp in my office is 65 degrees and it is cool outside. The drone feels hot, and when it is shut off automatically it has been sitting on a cool floor for only a few minutes. I hope I do not have a lemon drone on my hands that I'll have to return. My trust level about this product is at a very low level at this time. Any suggestions?

I don’t think you have a lemon. To keep the weight down the Mini 3 Pro dosen't  have an internal fan. I start the mini props and idle when I need to do transfers, updates, etc. With the props at idle I have not had an overheat issue. Happy Flying!!

if i disconnect the aircraft from the charger and hold down the power button nothing happens , even if i hold it for 5 seconds or do that multiple times, nothing!


this is a new drone
I previously had dji mini 2 and never had this issue!

Any suggestions ?

You could return it to where you bought and ask for replacement. Or you can set up a warranty claim…takes longer.

Very frustrating!

I am contemplating purchasing the mini 3 pro.
I live in south florida with high winds and temperatures.
It seems this is a real problem due to the drones design and if so, how come we havent seen more comments about this issue from all the reviewers / users posting their experience with this drone?
Would it be prudent to wait and allow more users to accrues experience?
Would this issue be particularly more problematic for users in warmer areas?

Has this issue ever been rectified?

The second reply in this thread suggest it will not be / cannot be. The drone does not have an internal fan, so if you keep a surface close to the bottom for a while, it will heat up a lot.

I sit it on top of a gel ice pack with a paper towel in between.  Seems to work well.

I put mine in the freezer while I was updating with the door open seemed to work opened the propellers and put it in a bowl so the bottom had space to breath crude hack i know but it updated

Today it was 41° and..., well, I wish they managed to put a fan in it...

It is fine when it flies, but you really can't keep it on standby for more than few minutes...

And it seems that they all do that...

Not to be pedantic but there are no heat sinks on the bottom of the Mini 3 pro... All the heat generated it is normally felt on the side and the top...
The battery also seems to get extremely hot to the touch, when not flying...

Only valid solution so far and suggested by most, is to have a little fan blowing on the drone while it is on and not flying. When it flies the rear blade are blowing air inside the unit from the top (where the heatsinks presumably are, as heat always rises) and keep the unit at a more decent working temperature...

Now that the Mini 3 will fly with a motion controller and googles, the overheating problem will occur in flight.  After about 15 minutes of FPV style flight in 90 degree temperatures, my Mini 3 Pro gave an overheat alarm and I was forced to land immediately.  The Mini 3/Pro needs more cooling.

I reccomend buying the mini3 pro, if you plan to fly it. Theres a lot of tech in there and needs to be moving, stays perfectly cool compared to letting it sit powered on b4 flight takeoff it would get hot. Mine quick transfers just fine. The key is to get it airborn or select transfer, dont dilly dally around its fine.

lower tech: set the drone on a small blue cooler thingy like those used to cool beer.
