Must be,  this cyclist stopped to ask me questions about it,  apparently his brother in law as bought one to capture there boat trips but they haven't used it,   I suggested he did a few flights from land before they try the boat thing,   He said it had RTH,  and I explained that if your on a boat it moves.

Quite!  Although there are some newer drones and RC with dynamic RTH, aren't there? So you can allow for a boat drifting for example. Or not having to track back to the start point after an active track cycle ride.

You can go in a reset RTH if you need to,  the point I was trying to make to him was that having his first flight from a moving boat wasnt a good idea.

I had enough nerves with the first flight on dry land,  on a moving boat,  gosh no thanks.

Only way to get a shot from that perspective is to get low so you did a superb job.

Hopefully, he took your advice onboard otherwise it would be easy to lose the drone on the first flight.

I think the message finally sunk in,   turned out they bought the drone last year and they still haven't opened the box,   I sure hope those batteries still work.

What?  How could he wait a whole year to open the box?  I'd be opening it on day one.  You're right about hoping the batteries are still working.

I still get a bit edgy when flying really low over water.  Read to many lost my drone over the water posts to not try and be more careful when I fly that low.  Now with my cinewhoop I always fly low and fast, even over water.

I was just hovering so Im always ready to push that left stick but I don't worry about pushing it too low,   at least with Mini3 the OA should give better warnings for that.

Gotta have quick reflexes and fast reaction time when flying super low.  As I'm constantly flying over water I'm not to eager to test my reaction time.  However, I guess if the drone took a dunk I could just put on my dive tanks and go try to recover it.
