The @DAFlys Challenge is to spot unexpected hidden ponds during drone flights
On the Dawn Patrol of the Mini3Pro yesterday morning a trio was observed

I would count that as a win unless someone else can find four or more ponds together. Sadly though while I would like to join in this challenge I live in the scorching desert.

You are winning the challenge for sure then.    I need to train my eyes,  and although todays is a water feature shot its no pond.

Does it have to have ducks on it, for example?

What is a pond simple definition?

A pond is a small area of still, fresh water. It is different from a river or a stream because it does not have moving water and it differs from a lake because it has a small area and is no more than around 1.8m deep.

Nehemiah Wallington's "Historical Notices of Events Occurring Chiefly in the Reign of Charles I", contained references to an extract preserved among that very king’s pamphlets. The extract in question, dated December 12, 1640, includes a dialog between two of Charles’ close confidantes, Lord Finch and Secretary Windebank, the latter of whom remarks:

    “Well met, my Lord, it seems that you have taken flight over the great Pond, pray what newes in England?”

This marks the earliest known written record of the word "Pond.”

I guess that would suffice wouldn’t it as I didn’t see anyway on the rules for this contest that you could not just dig a hole and fill it with water. Lol

Yes,  the closet thing to it that I know of from a kid at least was stick insects.    they used to bread like crazy and released into the local privet hedges.

Extraordinary animals, those. The grandkids looked after the school's one in a kind of small aquarium the size of a hamster cage, during one mid-term break.

I had some in an old aquarium as a kid,   woke up one morning at the entire top of the tank was black from the babies they had produced overnight.
