cannot connect to Action 2 from Galaxy S22 Ultra

I just picked up my DJI Action 2 Dual Screen from the local store, downloaded and installed MiMO App (v1.7.20) from download center.

I have been spending hours to conenct the unit with my Galaxy S22 Ultra, but no luck at all..

Well, the only option that I could do is manually connecting to the unit's WiFi which will lose the actual WiFi connection to the internet and thus I won't be able to update the firmware.

That said, if I do the opposite, the connection to the Action 2 will be terminated and I cannot control the unit via the app.

Any helps, please?

I have been re-installing the app for several times, but the problem is still persisting.

I've also tested on my Galaxy A23, which is also not white listed regarding the app details page, but same issue occurs..

Hi there Pogeun. Thank you for the reply and for giving out this update. After checking the mobile devices ( Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Samsung A23 ) on the recommended mobile device list of the DJI Mimo application. I am sorry to say that these mobile devices are not yet recommended for the DJI Action 2 and with the DJI Mimo application. DJI suggest for us to use arecommended mobile device for the Mimo application for compatibility and reliability purposes. There is a possibility that these mobile devices Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Samsung A23 will be able to work on the DJI Action 2 and with the DJI Mimo application. But however, since it's not yet optimized with the DJI application we cannot guaranteed if it will work all the time and if it will be able to run all the functions of the DJI Mimo application while using it on the DJI Action 2. Kindly please rest assure that our DJI R&D Team are continuously testing multiple mobile devices to be added on the list of recommended mobile device for the DJI Mimo application in the future. Thank you.

Well.. If such mobile devices are not fully supported, you should be stating it on the product details page, not on the App downloads center.

You can't just say "oh, unfortunately your mobile device is not yet supported".

iOS is fully supported up to iPhone 13 Pro Max while Galaxy is, officially, only supported up to S20+, not even S21 series, and you are asking me to wait for uncertain amount time until the app is fully functional on S22 Ultra?

That is exactly same as asking me to buy another mobile device just to get the firmware of my Action 2 unit updated especially when that specific update highly impacts the performance.

This is just ridiculous.

Dear Tech Support,

My wife bought me the DJI action 2 for an early christmas gift. I was really excited to open the box and start using it. Well after hours trying to download mimo and try to install program it would not open. The action 2 will not let me go any further until it is registered with mimo program.  I have read the articles that you need hiigher version android such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Samsung A23. Well, you should state this information before someone pays over $400.00 dollars.  All I want to do was use  and have fun.  Please advise what we can do.

Same problem. Could not connect with S22+.
Went back to my old Note 8 and connected fine.
HUGELY disappointing that this 'new' device does not support the newest mobile phones.
Also surprised that the Mimo app here in Australia is only available as an APK download when I scan the QR code. The app is not available on the Play Store. This raises all kinds of update and security issues in the future.

Please advise if there are plans to make this app available on the Play Store in Australia.

Extremely dissapointed. I own a S22 Ultra and I am shocked by this problem. DJI should state more clearly this compatibility issues.

Is this some kind of joke?

The samsung s21 was released 10 months before the action 2. Dji had almost a year to get it sorted.

Does this mean android devices released the same year as the action 2 (2021 and newer) are not actually compatible with the dji action 2 and mimo?

The action 2 was released November of 2021. Samsung s21 was released January 2021.

Does this mean dji have abandoned android users?

Can anyone advise of alternative android apps that work with new devices  (i.e devices released in 2021 onwards)?

Hi there, may we know if your issue is solved? Could you please tell me the mobile device and DJI unit you are using? If you would need to use DJI Mimo app, kindly try to download the newest version from https://www.dji.com/global/downloads/djiapp/dji-mimo and see if it would work on your phone.
