I haven’t turned my M3P on today, but quick question, if you don’t update can you still fly? (or have you got to update)?

Update available with DJI Assistant 2. And there's more info about this release:

•        Added support for FocusTrack, QuickShots (Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, and Boomerang), and Panorama in portrait mode (requires DJI Fly v1.6.8 or later).
•        Optimized the anti-interference ability and the transmission distance of the image transmission system.
•        Added a two-second option to interval time setting when using Hyperlapse after takeoff (requires DJI Fly v1.6.8 or later).
•        Increased the stability of videos when using Hyperlapse.
•        Increased the dynamic range for Hyperlapse.
•        Added support for continuous auto focus (AF-C) during video recording.
•        Increased the camera speed when taking photos.
•        Optimized image quality of recordings at night in D-Cinelike.
•        Fixed issue: the videos recorded in some scenarios in D-Cinelike flickered.
•        Optimized the vignetting effect in DNG photos.
•        Optimized the correctness of the battery level indicators on the DJI RC-N1 remote controller.
•        Added USB mode. When the aircraft is connected to a computer and USB mode is enabled, the aircraft disables image transmission to extend the time for copying footage (requires DJI Fly v1.6.8 or later).

The drone part of the update went fairly quickly. The rc update is taking a bit.

Did i get right, that the Mini3P, Rc-N1, the new RC have to be updated and the FlyApp to 1.6.8 ?

I never update unless somthing is not working. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Or better if it ain’t broke don’t let DJI break it,

If it was flying before the update it will still fly if you don’t update. How will it know if you don’t tell it

Now if they made the DJI RC compatible with the mini 2 or MA2 that would be worth updating

Makes very little sense, Mavic 3 uses RC Pro Air2s uses RC Pro but only Mavic 3 gets the upgrade.

Not as far as i have seen.

I wonder if this has corrected the issue of obstacle avoidance when set to 'avoid' ignoring the settings in Cine mode and left and right flight still utterly stupidly fast unless avoidance is set to brake.

Does that mean if you are in a CE zone it will now be locked to that - even if you then take a vacation somewhere that's not?

I had a quick test before the rain set in. Don't get your hopes up if your expecting a major (or any) signal improvement. Pretty much the same as before. I'll try the other features when I get the chance.

I've heard anecdotal evidence that this firmware fixes the CE in FCC zones issue reported by myself and Air Photography. I will test tonight and report.

One thing I have noticed though, my M3P is crabbing a lot. It was less noticable when flying but it's virtually flying at 45 degrees to the left.

Your drone may have switched to bypass mode, brake mode should stop that.

Its transmission improvements , so video shouldn’t be glitching etc, and this should be improvements to Ocysync.

Thanks, I will try that. I can't think why bypass mode would have me flying nearly sideways. I'm on mode 3 so that may make a difference

Perhaps expectations need to be tempered. This update doesn't appear to have improved the signal strength of my CE drone.

DJI RC - App Version 1.6.8
Aircraft Firmware = 01.00.200
RC Firmware = 01.01.000

Several issues :
Left stick would not turn the drone to the left - landed and re calibrated the controller
seems to have solved the issue.
App froze up in the middle of a POI - landed safely - VLOS
Lots of FPV screen lag.

I did not have these issues before the upgrade.
I fly here all the time and never had these kinds of issues.
* Going to try a firmware refresh *

I thought this was just my imagination. Mine started doing this too at times. I stopped it in mid flight and it continued rotating slowly for a while even when my fingers were not on the sticks.

A few quick flights as batteries weren't fully charged, some notes:

- compass is definitely fixed. Easy now to keep a good green lock with the RC directionally which leads me to....
- signal and range? Not sure. Maybe a little better. I noticed I could go for longer at a lower altitude than before, but overall range might be much the same. Will try again with fully charged batteries. It seems to be pretty much the same in urban settings though. When flying into the town it is still disconnecting at the same places so "interference" doesn't seem much improved. I get the impression that fix was to sort out the "CE in FCC region" with some drones rather than an overrall fix that would benefit us in CE land too.

It doesn't look like anything has been fixed with the switching to CE problem.  I still have to do the second restart of the drone AND still have to slow GNSS satellite acquisition on the second restart.
