nope  always errors during update. Drone came faulty to me. Hardware fault I guess. DJI adviced to send drone back to them. Today drone was sent back by UPS.

Damn, that sucks. I sold my Mini 2 and bought the Mini 3, now, I have nothing Thanks.

It does not work on my iPhone, what's te problem? The update is v01.00.0201. He said installation failed(-4000)

My only advice is you talk with DJI support team. They will help you.

I have just taken delivery of my Dji mini 3 pro however it is telling me to update firmware and I have not flown it yet tried installing update fails every time at 40% will it still fly without update

No map available in new rc controller with update! Flying blind even when tethered to phone.

Same here - no map since the update... Is there a fix or workaround available?

I am encountering error 4000 while installing the firmware at 88%. Help please. I have the RC with screen included.

Its totally unpredictable,  unless your a YouTube reviewer,  they usually get the updates early.  

My new drone Dji mini pro 3 but I can’t even get a first flight as firmware won’t install gets to 40% then fails

It would be nice if they could fix the GPS in the controller so that change Return to Home location always worked rather than just some of the time.





I was in a pretty open location with not many buildings around with drone reporting 28 satellites.

I think it will never go fly if you won't install this new firmware. I had same issue . I tried updating with DJI Fly and Assistant 2 - both case fail at 90 and 70%. My drone is in DJI now. I had to return them, and now I'm waiting for new one.

As others reported, same issue - screen freezes and you are SOL. In my case, the freezes were triggered by recording a video. Free flight mode was ok but I didn’t use it for more than a few minutes.

maybe its because too slow sd card inserted. Try insert SD with class 3 speed.

Put a fan in front of the drone when updating, it over heats and stops the install.

there is a new 1.6.9 update on the RC controller
turned it on and this time something different happened. Before I would get a range of only 200 m ish now it's lost at 600 m ish so its a bit better but still not good.
Also this happened:
I turn on the drone, went quickly on the transmission tab, and for a split second it was in FCC and there was option auto/ manual for me to choose 2.4 and 5 but it disappeared in front of my eyes.
Its so strange that this issue fixed some people M3P

Why hasn’t there been an official post from DJI about the controller update?

I wouldn't update. I made that mistake and it's now in the shop for no range issue

You can't use any of the autonomous features in portrait mode.

You need to be in portrait mode before setting up the pano.

Hey team, the strangest thing! My Mini 3 Pro says it is on the latest firmware, but has none of these features

I would wait before updating your Mini 3 Pros to latest firmware.  I tried to do it over the weekend and it bricked my unit.  Failed somewhere after 40% and now drone just shows all 4 LEDs brink three times in a row over and over again.  The RC unit (with display) upgraded successfully.  Shipping it back to DJI now (they pay for UPS) to fix.  Be careful!
