Good to hear, happy flying..

Greetings, I have never flown my new phantom 3 professional before, I'm currently updating the firmware.
In sploodge's post no29 the video shows solid red lights and flashing yellow and flashing camera light whilst upgrading, however my camera lights are inactive.

On my first flight which will be later this afternoon I have a nice big park to fly in but there are some very tall trees about and it's on hilly ground.

If it all goes pear shaped and I'm forced to hit the 'Return to Home' button is there a way I can keep the drone high above the tree line before hovering above me and descending?

HI, you can set the Return To Home ( RTH ) altitude in the app.. Its 20 meters by default..

Also if you are concerned about the status of the firmware update, you can post the TXT log files here so we can have a look..

Phantom 3 updated fine, the remote is on version 1.2.0
First flight sometime this evening.
What can go wrong?

I ran the updates and everything went smoothly.  I have run a couple of indoor test flights and all seems well so far.  I plan to run some outdoor tests later today with GPS.

Took it for a test flight, photos worked OK but video didn't come out, used the RTH and landed about 10 feet out on it's side, a couple of propellers whacked into the ground so I turned off straight away (left stick pulled back).

A few grass marks but the Phantom seems OK.

Not the aircraft lights....look at the tiny red/green light on the camera base in the front of the aircraft.

Look at the tiny red/green camera light on the front of the camera (craft)...not the aircraft lights.

What problem were you having?  FW 1.3.2 bricked my controller and I get "disconnected" in the GO app.  DJI says I have to send the aircraft and controller in for repairs.

My experience so far with the new firmware.

I and a friend of minehere in Greece, with our P3P and ipad mini 2 tablets, had black screen problems after we went to 1.2.6.
When 1.3.2 came out a few days ago we upgraded.
Everything went fine on the procedure, updated firmware, dji go app and batteries.

Hardware deconding ON, and everything else checked. Original Apple cables for tablet.

I may say that we and my friend build and fly rc helicopters for 10 years now.

In our first flights we have some major black screens. In some flights there is almost no video at all. All the other information and rc control are fine. We get the NO SIGNAL and Disconnect errors.

We here in Europe i think dont have the chance to select channels and HD quality video. I believe it has much to do with the auto channels selection.

Anyway untill 1.1.8 our P3P were perfect now, we dont know if it is going to have video on screen in each flight.

We tried going back to the 1.1.9 firmware but no luck ! So back to the latest updates and hoping it gets better...

We love the P3P but we are dissapointed not beeing able to see image on screen, and hoping someone hears and find a solution.

VPS is definitely fixed for me...

Horizon drift is almost gone.. Need more testing to be sure..

iv tried it many times...on hard surface i cant get the horizon steady. it drifts...firmware 1.3.20.

Hello everyone, glad that DJI has finally released the new firmware. So I updated the phantom (P3P), ...

i've flown it already. im using android. but my drone already 1.3.20. the pilot app crash so many times. as it about to go fruther....lost of video feed. the program also lost. i restart it again no success...times running out. wheres my p3... cant see it. then no choice i initiate RTH function. so i press once. nothing happened????? i tried to memorize the manual that i read before. i looked into the sky....no sign of my P3...waited for 3 minutes. nothing. then i remembered there should be a sound to indicate RTH in progress. so i press 2nd time this time press until i hear a sound. now the RTH is initiated. same time try to get pilot app run again. then came the p3 above my head. so i canceled the RTH to continue flying....damned.....what a scary moment! then again

Hopefully the Android DJI Go app will release soon that should resolve the video issue.

I've been wondering myself why the Pilot App is not available anymore... at least until the new ap ...

yup. me too. app pilot can work with controller and p3. no signal problem...p3 works flawlessly...but not for app pilot. crash n crash....have to restart the app. but still have control of p3. thank God!

Hello.  I followed every direction and the .txt file comes back as a success but now whenever the plane is powered on I get no lights just a B-B-B-B-B... continuously. The "Gimbal cannot receive MC data" error pops up.

Format the card, put firmware back on it and place it back in the Phantom and power it on.. Leave it to do its loud beeps for about 10 mins. Should sort itself out and eventually give the happy Da...Da.Da beeps.

That worked!! Thank you very much! One More question.. should I just keep the firmware on the sd card so my batteries will update as well?

Anybody else getting grainy / non-HD video clips when creating them with the new app?  Raw video from the P3A is all good.  Once I create a "work" in the app, the video looks like SD played on an HD TV.  

I'm still rocking f/w 1.1.8 but am contemplating upgrading after my Pilot app was overwritten with DJI GO yesterday. On searching the forum I spotted an announcement that said you *HAD* to upgrade to 1.1.9 before it was possible to upgrade to a newer firmware. I'm wondering how many people have tried to upgrade from 1.1.8 -> 1.3.2 and if this has caused any of the issues...?

Looking at all the issues I'm not looking forward to trying to complete two seperate f/w upgrades in one sitting!

Upgraded the APP and it crashes upon booting.

Removed the APP and did a fresh install the same problem.

Android 4.3 Asus ME302C.

Older version worked fine

I'm having the same problems with the new DJI GO app crashing as soon as it boots ! I'm using a Hudl2 tablet which has performed well with the old DJI Pilot App 1.2.0. I have now re-installed the old app pending any update to the GO app.

EDIT

Problem solved by deleting the DJI Pilot folders and re-installing the new DJI GO app.

After many black screens and NO SIGNAL issue with the new firmware-app, today when i disabled video cache, everything went back to normal. 4 flights without issues.

I have ipad mini 2 cellular, original Apple cable, 8 channels and only auto selection. I am satisfied if video cache was my reason for black screens and no signal indication.

Have you tried uninstalling the DJI GO app and then deleting the DJI Pilot folders ? I've done this and the new app installed like a dream. You can use a program such as 'X-plore' which will allow you to navigate to the DJI Pilot folders in order to delete them prior to installing the new GO app.

I have update my P3A with FW 1.3.20 and DJI GO app (Android). On the aplication, it show following data: App= 2.0.0 and Firmware is 1.2.8+.
Should it be 1.3.20????

  I realized after I should of only copied the new update txt's so it was kinda rude to put that long txt on sorry about that !

Same here. Flight behavior definitely improved. VPS seems to work (but had it switched off anyway) Horizon almost level (but not there yet). Happy with app and for the first time my android machine is updating the flightstats to the cloud properly so that the data match on both my iPad air and my Galaxy Tab pro.
So all in all this is really a big improvement!!

Just updated hoping to improve the indoor flying. I don't think it did. But, I'm not sure what to really expect either. I imagine it should 'stay put' if I take my hands off the controls, but I still have to constantly fly the thing. Not at all what I expected. Not at all like outdoor GPS flight. I tried various indoor areas. They were hard surfaces with distinct, non-repeating patterns.
Also, I'm not sure I understand what people are talking about with the horizon. I've not noticed a tilt or anything like that in my photos or video.

is this 1.3.20 firmware better than the previous 1.1.9?
currently i have 1.1.9 (out-of-the-box) with DJI Pilot 1.2.0 app and no problem so far as i understand. quite happy with it.
lately the app auto-updated to DJI Go 2.0.2. should i update my P3P firmware to 1.3.20 also?

Hi. When I try to update RC via DJI GO it tells me that there is new firmware - P3 Standard 1.0.20, Update Now. The problem is that I have P3 Professional and can't update with 1.3.20 software for professional. When I put the SD card in RC, nothing happens. After 10 min the RC start beeping and that is all. What can I do in order to fix this?

The same thing happens to my craft after upgrade - it'slowly drifts to the left.
Another bad thing is that craft loses height moving forward or backward or sides, so you have to adjust it always.
Have no idea what's going on, upgrade was done for RC using android smartphone, but all went ok, with no warnings.

To all: please disregard my 2 posts about craft non-steadiness after FW upgrade to 1.3.20.
15 minutes ago I've completed outdoor tests - everything is OK.
I suspect the reason of problems I had in the morning is a kind of hasty and sloppy (and unedequate!) compass calibration - the two axis of calibration were not orthogonal at all.

Flew my P3P this morning.

Firmware version 1.3.2, DJI GO app version 2.0.0

One battery and all went well flight and camera-wise.

Returned, put new battery in, took off and flew up over 100 meters AGL and was 1200+ meters from home point when the grid started flashing off & on, camera parameters in upper right of screen all went to N/A.

Was recording video as this happened. The little line that animates during image acquisition around the red shutter release button started being animated, then stopped animating and video recording ceased and the camera image onscreen went black, all parameters for camera went to N/A.

The video file on the card was unreadable. All still images up to that point were readable.

I stopped flying away from the home point and hovered in one spot. closed the app, relaunched, no effect.

rebooted ipad, no effect.

returned to home point, swapped in a third battery, no effect. Still a black screen, N/A on all parameters for camera.

Does anyone have suggestion(s) on what is causing this or how to resolve it?

I see no point in contacting DJI support, they are useless, never return emails.

thanks for any tips you can offer.

PS it flew straight, but the gimble was cocked and I needed to adjust it for accuracy.

I keep having an issue where the firmware starts & does the D-D-D-D beep & the camera flashes green & red, then all of a sudden it goes to straight red & the sound changes to 1 constant noise. When I check the text in the file on the SD card, it says the file is corrupt & to re-download from website only to have it do the same thing. What am I doing wrong? I have used 2 different SD cards.

Try formatting the SD card using the DJI Go App then putting a fresh firmware BIN file on it..

I have seen it myself where for some reason either the download it corrupt or it becomes corrupt when copying from PC to SD card.. Try another SD card READER. Also make sure no AV is scanning the file.
