Hi Group -
I had an successful upgrade on the craft but not on the RC. I have an GL300A RC model an ...

ok- It's been a long night but its all updated. The workaround for the RC model GL300A update is to load the update from the SD card (inside the gimbal). Remove any text files that generated from the P3 update and just leave the firmware file. Connect the cable from the gimbal to the RC. Power on the P3 first, wait 20 sec then power on the RC. Within 60 seconds the RC LED will go from green to Blue.  After the upgrade the RC will return to 'green' light status. Power off the P3 and then the RC.

Can  not update the RC with Firmware 1.3.20

I have a Phantom 3 Professional with ipad AIR2 and DJI Go.
Updating the Aircraft with Firmware 1.3.20 without problems.
And also the batteries without problems.

But when I insert the SD card into the RC, start running it. Red light comes on. But it remains red at all times until it beeps and turns itself off after about 10 minutes.
It reads, in other words not from the SD card. Have no problem with the card reader. And SD card are the same as in aircraft.

The RC seems to work well with aircraft but I would anyway like to have the same firmware in both aircraft and RC.
DJI Go app says I have the firmware 1.3.20 on aircraft, but the RC must be updated. Very grateful for the advice. The model of the RC is 300A.

I'm still getting the 'no signal' issue. 3 mins into the flight yesterday the signal and video stream went dead. Still had control of the thing so just landed. Tried everything. New cables. New devices (iPad / iPhone). Deleted / unstaled apps. Turned on / off hardware decoding. Cleared the cache. Updated firmware. Fortunately it's still in the 14 days and the company I bought it from (not DJI) are going to do a swap. Should have new one here Saturday.

mine does the exact same thing, same sounds, even that buzzing, grinding at the end.  What is wrong with them?  I also get no video.

Do me a favor please, look in misc/log on the sdcard, there is a log file that shows your updates.  see if your first one with the new firmware looks like mine.  Notice that after some of the items were updated the next try sees them as "not detected."

Be sure to re-calibrate your RC sticks.

I've made sure the sticks are calibrated. Also did a cold IMU last night and few today, still the same issue.

Looking at the phantom the camera is pointing off to the left rather than straight forward so even manually flying it straight the footage doesn't look like its flying straight.

Meant to say, updated no problem. IPad didn't automatically update the RC via the Go app, used a USB stick.. Success

Took about 22 minutes on bird, less than two on the RC

I also have this same problem with a phantom 3 but with and iPad Mini running IOS 8.4. The remote control will not connect to the iPad. We also tried a second iPad mini, installed the DJI Go 2.0 app and same thing, never connects so the app doesn't launch. Removed and reinstalled the app on the first iPad and no luck either.  Thoughts?

Hi all,
My RC is model GL-300B
I'm using a Galaxy Tab S 8.4'' Android and the Pilot App.
The P3 updated fine but I don't know if the RC updated correctly it keeps telling me I need a Firmware Update in the Pilot App.  The Update for the RC fails when trying update it with the Pilot App.  I tried with a S5 with the Pilot App and it also fails.
When I try to boot the RC from a SD card nothing happens the light stays red and doesn't beep.
Will plugging the RC into the Gimbal with the new Firmware on the card work to update the RC ?

I have tried plugging in a card reader and a flash drive directly into the RC ( model GL-300B ) but nothing happens !
The light stays Red and there are no sounds..
I guess I'll have to wait for the new Android App to come out and try to update the RC

hey,
my p3p used to be pretty steadi inside with vps, used to have 126 fw, now with the latest it does not hold steady, it does move and i have to keep correcting it. i think it because of the floor which is concrete, pleanty of light but there really is not much contrast from grey concrete, do u think that is it? i really dont fly indoors so o big deal but suppose if vps is not working that good then it could be an issue when im flying low outside.

Just make sure you remove the notepad file off the sd card after upgrading each battery.

you absolutely dont need to remove the txt file;
the operating system does not look for a txt file when it boots up, it looks for fw bin file and if it finds one newer, then it will install it. Once installed it creates a txt file if there is not one there already, if there is one there then it just adds an entry into the same txt file.

i keep seeing posts about " the FW does not complete successfully, i waited 20 mins and all it was doing is four rapid beeps, so i shut it off and now it does nothing"
it is really simple, this fw is taking around 24-25 mins, and you are going to hear four rapid beeps, just leave the thing be for god sake, put the damn card in and go do something for 30 mins, heck go for an hour!!!!

Hi all!

I'm having some major issues with updating the firmware; the bird is not even beginning to update, and now i have lost ALL video feed.  The gimbal starts up normally then 'droops' after 10-15 seconds. I made a video but I am on an island (that I was hoping to shoot) and the upload speed is dismal here, so I can't post it.

I flew 72 hours ago with no issues. Yesterday I tried to send my bird up and lost video signal after about 3 seconds. After looking online, I saw there was a new firmware upgrade, and thought this would be the best fix.

I've downloaded the new app, I DLed the new firmware, and when trying to update the phantom via SD card to gimbal...IT WON'T UPGRADE! I've upgraded my firmware each time, I am familiar with the process, and did everything properly. I've checked the ribbon cables and they seem to be fine.

The Gimbal LEDs do not flash red/green...and there's no beeping noise. I've let it run for 50 minutes just in case and it doesn't work. On top of that...the RC will not upgrade with a usb stick OR by connecting to the gimbal...

I've tried reformatting, trying 4-5 different SD cards, re-downloading the app, re downloading the firmware...Doing it on MAC and Windows..

I've even tried going back down to the previous firmware, the bird WILL NOT UPDATE!

PLEASE HELP! I'm on a trip on am island visiting friends and I can't fly my p3! I want to get this bird back in the air! DJI is being unresponsive!

I am using a macbook pro; iPad air 2 and have 1.3.2 and go app 2.0.  I'm not a n00b.

I'm so sad and frustrated. Especially with DJI and their poor customer service.  I've wasted several international minutes today calling and getting to no one who could help w/ the P3. I'm on a trip trying to film a paradise island (can't wait to show you the 10 seconds of footage I do have! haha)

Yuh you don't have to but makes it a much easier to read the results from the flashed battery

I do not work the remote control dji pilot, when you connect your smartphone or tablet to control panel , nothing happens !
Also with the remote control , I can control only the tilt of the camera on the copter .
The rest I can not control is available even motors can not turn !

Hi everybody!
Just tested new firmware 1.3.20
Hoping no issues this time...
The flight itself was perfect - rock solid while in hover,only one moment lost connection for couple seconds
when the bird was right above me just 70 m,never happened before...
Made a few flights spent two batteries -no issues flies perfect.
As soon as I checked the video was surprised to see the telemetry tags on the screen.

Thanks for the help - I have pro. I've tried to update using 126 and the unit just no longer finds the firmware bin file and does not try to update...

The LED status light doesn't even flash.. I'm worried.

Weird thing is that I can fire up the drone just fine even though it tells me that I have to update the
firmware, RC, and camera.

The RC will not update either!

I have my iPad with me, drone is locked away for safety as I am in a very remote location.  Can't find the FW version on just the iPad/ DJI app. I had updated to 1.2.6 a few months ago with no issues.

well, if your orig. fw was 126 and the new update132 did not work, the old fw will still be on the p3 and if u try to as u said downgrade to 126. its not going to do anything as it sees the 126fw same or older than the 126 already on it.
the original problem of loosing video could be because of a few other factors. i suggest leaving the update be til u get back, meanwhile take it out and see if you have good gps signal, chk your mod values in sensor settings, manually chk the compass bearing if u can, use ur smartphone and find north, mark a line and put the nose of p3 on that line and see if that corresponds correctly on the map view. make sure u have enabled multi flights in the settings( in case u need to go to atti mode). arm the motors and let it sit there for a few minutes. if you dont hear any odd noises or speed changes in the motor, take off manually and hover at six feet for a few minutes, again listen for any odd noises. then fly it at that altitude using all the different movements u can. basically use a whole battery for all the tests you can do, make sure you are videoing all the time. if all goes well then you gotta take it higher and further with the second battery. if u feel its doing everything ok then depends how brave u r in taking it out fully to video!!

After firmware upgrade on my Drone and RC my P3A behaved similar. Then I tried reconnecting and I was requested by the Software DJI Pilot to allow RC connection. I marked always trust and since then everything works just fine.

Try to disable and enable again debugging on your device.

This is my experience on updating firmware to Firmware 1.3.20 on my DJI PHANTOM 3 ADVANCED

Drone was updated without any issues and process was smooth.

Following new Update instruction I tried to Update RC using my mobile device Nexus 5 (Android 4.4.4) but DJI Pilot doesn't allow me to do so.
There was kinda error message saying "It is not possible to update RC firmware from Mobile Device"

Then I switched back to old method and used Gimbal Card Reader for RC firmware update.
It took several minutes. I looked text logs and all good - Success.

Later did the update for the battery and success.

I went on the field for testing the drone after update and everything seems good!
I also noticed my Nexus 5 is not getting very hot anymore and also have not noticed any video lag.

Today my friend bought new battery for me and I have updated the firmware for this one as well.

I checked the logs and its says: Success
but dates are wrong. It shows 01.01.2014

Log records for previous updates are OK 06.08.2015 but for this new battery it is wrong.
Probably it will not affect anything.

Hey Dirk,

I am also using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S and was wondering how you updated the remote control.  I noticed in the pdf instructions it states to update through the DJI Go App, which is not available.  Did you update via USB?

Btw, have you downgraded your google play services?  I just reinstalled all of the updates believing the choppy, crashing, and laggy video was fixed with this update.  Is that not the case?

What worked for me is connect the RC to the tab, turn on RC, then the Tab. (do not turn on the Phantom) Click the status icon (top Middle) and where you see "Update Required" click it and mine downloaded the new update for the RC. Then it asked if I want to install. Yes and the RC appeared to update. It will still say "Update Required".

I ran a test last night. I had Google services updates uninstalled and there was no lagging. So on the second flight I updated Google and 10 minutes into the flight I started to get bad lagging. On the third flight I uninstalled Google updates and everything was back to working good. Did have to reboot the Tab to get the maps to show.

Try to downgrade to 1.2.6. If it is not start the process then try  to 1.1.9.
If result will be Sucess- repeat to update to 1.3.2
Allways use SD-Card witch was in box with the P3P/. So and format the card with windows to FAT32
