Doesn't appear to effect any other locale.  Will probably get a nag to update on the Fly App though.

I had a few months to use the Mavic Air 2 (3 months maybe). I tried to fly yesterday but is not possible, I get many signs in the app and that the drone is not able to fly. ( I can only see the picture from drone camera drom the app) I tried every way I could but I can't fix the issue. I believe that this is an update problem but I don't know which update brought this problem. (Firmware, RC or App) The drone is in excellent condition and I maybe haven't used it more than 15 times from the day that I bought it. (2 years ago).
I need your help to fix this issue, the drone is expensive and the fault is not mine. You can see the screenshots to understand what I am facing.
I am looking forward to your answer.

i have updated to V01.01.0920 on my Mavic Air 2, how do I prove that I have Remote ID function to my Mavic Air 2. I keep on seeing this firmware can support Japan requested RID but in my DJI FLY app, I cannot find anything about RID. Could DJI confirm your product Mavic Air 2 does support RID?

I think the Japanese RID was in the previous update from July and this update is for "other" reasons. Anyway, please note that this time there is also a battery firmware update so make sure that all your batteries are updated too. Basic testing post update didn't show any problems for me.

What has been added in today's update (29-12-2022)? The release notes aren't really descriptive.
If someone has more info, please share! I'm wondering, maybe Remote ID has been added secretly or something....
In any case, will not update until I get to know more info about this update. DJI's release notes aren't helping!

Any word when or if the Mavic Air 2 will have remote ID in the United States?

I updated the FW on my Air 2 today and RC Pro does not work with it.  

Another update with zero helpful details about what changed.  I did have to update all 3 batteries.  

I'm surprised they're still updating this "older" drone. Mine still works just as good as the day I bought it. That said, I won't be updating the firmware. The reason they don't say what the changes are makes me think it's only patching exploits that programs like DroneHacks have found. That's why DJI has started putting Anti Rollback features in some updates. No thanks!!

They wouldn't implement something useful like that to us customers. They'd rather make users think they have to upgrade to a newer drone to get those type of features.

It's always about the corporation's bottom line....profits.  Keep the consumer upgrading as often as possible has to be the DJI motto.

This is the way businesses act when there's little to no competition. DJI is creating a void where one day soon a different company will knock them off their high horse. I love DJI but when this day comes they'll have nobody to blame but themselves.

Unfortunately, at this time they have no real competitor threatening to take a large share of their market.  Lots of new start-ups but will be a long time before they get big enough to take on DJI.  

Have been trying to update for four days via app and laptop. This “update” now has made an expensive drone useless. It is beyond ridiculous.

I too am having issues installing this update, and my drone can't fly with the state of my firmware.  

Do not update to this application under any circumstances!!!! Your drone will kill you.
It doesn't complete the update via FLY, it stayed at 63% until the full battery was completely discharged.
DJI Assistant is dead: Download finished at 99%. Reset and return to the previous firmware version is impossible.
I can throw the drone away.
Note: This was my first update from DJI after 8 years of flying DJI drones.

air2 happened to me too, new from firmware V01.00.0250 to fimware V01.01.1200, the process with dji assistant reaches 99% and it stops, I tried from the remote control and it reached 63% and it stopped

Hi There! New to this forum...every time I try to install this update, it fails. On the Assistant 2 app on my computer, it'll may it to 99% freeze and stop. When I use my phone via the RC, it makes it to 78% and wont make it further. Any help? DJI said to send it in but there has to be an easier fix than that. Thank you in advance!

This is happening to me, too! Please let me know if you figure it out...DJI just said to send it in...

Update worked fine for me.

It did sit for a while at 63% but the drone restarted on its own and then everything finished as expected.

Really? Are you sending a drone to China? Who pays the costs? How much does it cost?

The last two updates made my Air 2 not RTH unless its night time and now it thinks that its going to run into the sun so it climbs to the upper limit I have programmed (then hovers till the battery dies).  Maybe this update fixes some of that?  I want to try to update but at the same time am really afraid to try.  Anyone notice any difference in obstacle detection in this firmware?

Dji doe iets aan de niet werkende firmware update. De laatste van 29-12-22 . Op de dji assistent 2 for cunsumer drones, gaat de download maar tot 99% en doet dan niks meer!!! Alles geprobeerd, andere computers (Windows 10) ,andete kabels,enz. Ook met de dji fly app 1.9 0  werkt het niet! Die blijft steken op install 83% . Ook ander app versies geprobeerd,cache geleegt,het wekt niet! Had ik maar nooit aan die updates begonnen. Toen werkte alles nog perfect. Overigens, is de rc update wel gelukt.

Did they remove the option for recording 4k@60fps in H.264 coding with this update…? or has it always been that way? I certainly feel like I shot stuff earlier this year in 4k@60 without having issues viewing it on my Windows 11 laptop. Now my computer is asking me to pay for a plug-in so it can read H.265

I also have this same update problem, with my Macic air 2. dji assistant 2 for consumer drones, which is stuck at 99% download. And with the latest dji fly app 1.9.0, the installation hangs at 83%. The rc was successful via the fly app. Please don't leave us. I already bought drones for € 3000 from you. You can't let us down because of your problem. There are many other Mavic Air 2 users who have the same problem. Help us !!! Kind regards from Martin.

I said on this thread 5 days ago updating this firmware wasn't a good idea. DJIs new business model is based around making people upgrade to a newer drone when they don't need to. Just like Apple tried a few years ago with slowing the iPhones CPU in firmware updates. Why do you think there's no plan to bring RID to the Mavic Air 2? Because DJI will use that as a reason for us MA2 owners to HAVE to upgrade if we want to fly legally. They have no reason to add features to the MA2 via firmware. If your current firmware is good. DON'T FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKEN!

DJI needs to pull this FW update until the issues are fixed.  They aren't even acknowledging it is causing issues.  Seems there way of writing off the MA2.
