Celebrating 25 Million feet flown.

Just noticed my flight distance has popped over the 25 million feet mark.   

Cool. I guess I don't update it much, still at just over 1 million. But then I don't fly the Mini much...

If I get to just 4 miliion this summer I'll feel some sense of achievement  Will you make 30 mill before Xmas?

Ive done 5 million in about a week so you never know,  there may even be a post about it. .

The DJIs fpv distance probably. But I don't fly that exclusively. Also I don't connect it to the app often so DJI doesn't know how much I've flown.

yes the goal was 25 mil by the end of the summer,  so now I could go 30 but that might be too easy.

Yes,    the weather has been hot and the winds low,  but sadly the gritters have been out overnight,   now for  ice but for molten bitumen. The roads in places are literally melting.

That's definitely a way of telling how hot it has been.  Here in the US I have seen a few temporary road repairs where the surface tar got so hot that it ran off to the side of the road.  Probably why here road repairs tend to be done early in the mornings before it gets too hot out and gives the asphalt a chance to set.

In spain Ive seen them laying new roads and they have to spray them down with water to cool them off as they go.

Hard to do that here.  EPA jumps at any chance to fine somebody.  They would probably claim that as the water ran off it was taking chemicals with it that when it reached the side of the road would then leach into the ground.  Sounds crazy but the EPA is fanatical on certain things.

The EPA is easily influenced by corporate advocates.  They go after the small guys and leave major corporations alone.  Worst polluter is a paper mill that pollutes into the air and the local stream water it uses.  They get away with it because they have powerful advocates and influence the right people.

Anyway, the idea of less pollution will never happen in an industrial society.  Just my thoughts.

I have a ex-Navy officer friend that now works at the FAA somewhere in upper management.  I should query him about any future changes to the UAV community that he might be able to talk about.  The FAA has been awful quiet since that last major change and with all the talk about the huge expansion of commercial drone deliveries I'm sure things will change soon and probably not for the good of recreational flyers.

Congratulations on reaching that milestone, the drone has certainly been worth the money for you
