I'm guessing he was using the big battery in this case...that's quite a long distance (and all over water...), in lots of wind...I'd be worrying about running out of juice and making a splash.

Just for comparison, I was stood beside a the pilot of a CE spec Mavic Mini that  went out to over 8000 ft/2468m over the sea i.e. more than 1.2 times the stated max, the pilot's nerve went before the signal. I expect that the Mavic Mini's flight was a rarity but still........

That's harsh. I wouldn't call him sick. He just keeps making up excuses on why the obvious signal problems are not a big deal.

I thought the range issues are for the most part in Canada and CE countries, this guy is in the US and in FCC mode as standard.

For FCC. he didnt fly very far though.  

Interesting video.  He does admit that he has had range issues (at the beach).  As he is on FCC mode that flight over the water was way short of the advertised range.  

No matter what anybody says or thinks there art still remain range issues with the Mini 3 Pro. Some people who are afraid to fly far out might be happy.  I'm more into having good signal strength, both near and far and in that sense the Mini 3 Pro lacks at this time.
