What desktop programs for editing are you using?
I have VideoPad Free for non-comercial use, but for 4k editting and some modern captions its not enough for me.
What to search for, if there is a need to buy something to make it rightful im also listening

For free video editing software I really like OpenShot.  It's compatible with Windows, MAC and Linux.

Davinci Resolve is excellent for free

I used Black magic DaVinci Resolve. For free it offers great functions. Learn to use takes some time, but then it is amazing.
Another free program I use for basic short videos is Clipchamp. But it does not offer 4K as you want. Only 1080p.

I've installed OpenShot and VSDC for now

DaVInci weight much more so probably is more advanced tool so i need to deserve this

tutorial seems to be nice and convincing

I've tried VSDC  and resign - cuting of video is too complicated, also i couldnt zoom out the timeline. For now:

• WideoPad
• VSDC
  

and still searching

I've tried OpenShot and resign - app is quite simple but preview is poor, when you cut a vid there is no timestamp and so on,finally it crashed, furtunelly change were kept.

I've tried ShotCut and resign - i could not find fade option, app doesnt allow variable framerate, it has zoom option but preview is not convinient to use

I am omitting Lightworks - it allow only 720p to export for free
iMovie - mac only now i use
HitFil Express. - unfortunelly i couldnt import videos, app show unexpected errorsconstant b/r also. App looked good but i ommit in my case
