Is there a reasonably priced alternative for this exact screwdriver in the UK please?

Search for Wera PH000 05345290001
PH pattern has a red stripe on the grip.

I don't know if this is the official size, but it feels right and is working for me whereas the DJI one really didn't.

I am unfamiliar with the Wera brand but I read decent reviews on ScrewFix.  ScrewFix only has a set that had PH0 and PH00 only so ordered online.

Wowstick is interesting - but I just wanted a dedicated screwdriver that I can keep in the drone case.

That photo you posted, it looks like if you took a half turn the driver would easily slot in because in the photo you make no attempt to slot it.

Agreed. It appears the driver tip will 'drop in' if rotate a few degrees

I reported on this forum my difficulty with the provided screwdriver a few days ago.  I just a moment ago received delivery of a Wera PH000 driver.  It is noticeably smaller than the screwdriver that came with my Mini 3 Pro but fits absolutely perfectly.  I was just able to screw home two replaced screws that still had 0.5mm travel still to go (that I could not shift any further with the DJI provided screwdriver).  The new PH000 is easier to grip also and I didn't need to push hard into the screw slot anything like as hard as with the DJI screwdriver - and so didn't need to hold onto the motor nearly so hard either.

I recommend a decent PH000.

Hi chap(ess), what model number is that driver please as there are a few Wera Ph000 that show up on Amazon? thanks oops, automatically assumed you are a chap, will adjust for PC...

Picture when it comes.  Wanna see so i can decide to buy

Be careful, there are a few copies out there, here's the real McCoy, i don't know what the copies are like but the battery is certainly not up to it, up to 2hrs where the real one can do 8hrs continuously (allegedly). I am trying to decide if a powered driver is what i need or just want lol. Could have done with it the other day mind when i fitted a new screen to my laptop :/

For model numbers, there's Wera 05345290001 (https://products.wera.de/en/screwdrivers_series_kraftform_micro_2050_ph_micro.html) and Wera 05030117001 (ESD version) (https://products.wera.de/en/screwdrivers_esd_series_1550_ph_esd_micro.html)

The ESD version is £5.61 on Amazon so that's what I've ordered but I won't have it for a few days

It still amazes me how DJI got this wrong

this will happen when you have 4 or 5 different screwdriver skus in the factory (for several different drones) and somebody doesn't pay attention to the details.  in reality, dji should not be in the screwdriver business, should not be stocking and supplying screwdrivers period.  i can see if it were a dji proprietary security screw of some sort.

I am sure it is easy to get one but DJI should get this right. I kind of shows something in their QC line has gone very wrong.

For pete sake go to any local hardware store and get yourself a screwdriver that fits already.
And stop whining about something so goofy.Good greef

Well if you were to think you would realise that if you were out flying and you damaged a blade and were not aware of this issue and you took out the supplied driver and it did not fit that would have been the end of that days flying for you. Hence letting people know in advance

It is always quite useful if you think things through before you post comments

think about it, if dji sold 1.05 million mini 3 drones in a year and 95% of the people never change the blades, that's one million screwdrivers that will pollute the world unnecessarily.  at a cost of 5 cent each, that $50,000 spend on wasted screwdrivers and more importantly at 0.3 ounces each, that 10 tons of metal shipping on airplanes and in boxes all across the world for absolutely no reason (how much does shipping an extra 10 tons cost?).  imagine shipping all that metal junk from a chinese factory to homes in australia, asia, americas, and europe.  (multiply that by thousands of other companies doing the same nonsense) and then year after year, for decades.  i did the quick math so ymmv but you get the point.  it's a huge waste.  most people already have the screwdriver and if you need one, go get one or order one because they are readily and easily available to everyone.  but you can't be bothered to even include the correct screwdriver?  if these are special head screws, include it.  if the drone shipped with the blades off and you had to install them, fine.  if you broken a blade and you need to change a blade on the spot in order to fly the drone home, ok.  otherwise, stop it....please!

You just CANNOT be that sad.

Not sure if I have this right - but using an ifixit kit - a ph000 driver is not correct - it needs the j000 driver as I think they are JIS screws and not Phillips?

When I try a PH bit - it does not settle in - but the JIS does

The use of the slang term period just means end of discussion, in this scenario, its meaning is quite obvious. Why bring this up many replies later, is it because they are American? Such prejudice in your heart I sense.

I just checked Mine and they are tiny screws and Mini does not fit. This is very bad because if you tried to use this screwdriver you would most likely not spot this and ruin the head of the screw and be faced with a very difficult job to remove it.

Come on DJI this is very poor

Mine doesn't fit, this is horrible and the user can screw up the rotor trying to replace blades with a wrong screw driver.

I get the distinction between JIS and Phillips (looks like a subtle, but important difference!).

Is it true that the prop screws are JIS rather than Phillips head?  If so, that would help explain (some) of the many reports of terrible experiences using standard Phillips head screwdrivers...

Whilst my PH000 fits perfectly, a lot of the issue is that the screw loc used is very strong.

I have just tried to unscrew mine as a test and whilst the screwdriver nor screw head gave way, I was unable to move the actual screw itself with greater than any normal pressure that would have been applied to the Mini 2 for example.

I am not saying that some don't have the incorrect screwdriver supplied, no, just that even with the correct driver, they are still very, very tight. Many are going to fall foul of this in the months to come. I am going to have to look for a bigger handled driver.

Arent JIS denoted by a tiny dot in the screw head? Not to mention DJI is a Chinese company and not Japanese.
