So I have been very impressed by the Mini 3 Pro - a quality piece of kit.

Less impressed by the DJI RC in one particular aspect - battery life.

It's all current on firmware and I charge it to full relatively close to flight time. I've now been out with the Mini 3 four times. Both of the times I have attempted to be out with the drone for longer than an hour (using three of the normal batteries in sequence) the DJI RC has always run out of power after 60-70 mins of operation, which is frustrating as I only got through 1.5 or 2 of the drone batteries. This morning it failed right as the sun was finally coming out on the subject I had set out to capture.

I am in touch with DJI support on this as it's far below the stated battery life of four hours.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I would estimate around 10 charge cycles now to full charge (as have been configuring, playing with settings even while not in flight etc)

My DJI RC, used with the Mini3Pro, lasts through three Drone battery useages and still has 50% charge left on it. The stated duration is, up to four hours.  I haven't tested this to the limit, but it seems accurate based on what I've done so far.

Yeah that's what I would expect, thanks. Pretty sure I have a faulty unit.

I did 3 batteries on Sunday and this is how much I have left

That's unfortunate - and annoying. I feel your pain

I went out with mine today and the fourth battery light was flashing after flying 3 batteries so sounds like yours is faulty.

Contact the support in my opinion

The DJI RC ( https://www.dji.com/rc?site=brandsite&from=nav ) has an operating time of 4 hours, and it is recommended to use a charger rated 5 V/2 A or above with a rated power of 4.5 W. Unfortunately that is abnormal and I got a feeling you have received a RC with a defective battery.  I'm averaging Just under 3 hours battery time on my RC.  Of course that is with 1 LED still lit solid.  

Battery depends on a screen brightness,.just swipe.down and lower it manually so you can save some juice

Me!!! I have had DJI drones for years, starting with the Phantom... and I am SOOOOOOO disappointed by the battery life. I cannot use my third battery because the RC is already dying... And I have only just got the drone and flown about 30 times

Me too! I can fly for definitely no more than an hour!!!

You may have a defective RC. For the rest of us trying to get maximum time with brightness up to full, having a portable battery pack plugged in can give you the flexibility you need. They're cheap too.
