To be fair, those batteries hold a lot of stored potential.  A crash could certainly result in a fire.

Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised they don't catch on fire more to be honest.

People don't realise just how much energy is stored in these and how fragile they are.

Not unusual for a LiPo. Have seen many Ducted Fan jets explode on impact.

The Mavic3 packs are pretty much the size of a 450 class heli 4s pack, these guys will freak out when they see a 700 class heli 12s lipo explode...LOLLL

Even a small thin ipad, when the battery goes it is quite destructive.

Those batteries are little explosives if not given the right care.  I can see how they could explode or create a short circuit on impact.  I charge my RC LIPO batteries inside an ammo box that I that I drilled holes for wires to go through.

You are right about that. I have many 12S battery trays set up for my Align 700 and 800 helis.

Too hard to charge at the club so have about 5 trays per heli. I hope nobody runs into my rear when carrying them in the car.

strange that the video doesn't mention anything significant about the fire, when it started, how long it lasted, how big was it, did he come upon the burning wreckage, or anything about the battery....unless i missed it.

however, the video says one thing:  installing an aftermarket accessory on your drone doesn't necessarily or automatically void the warranty.

Hello there. Sorry about the trouble. It's possible that batteries may be damaged if they come into contact with liquids or are exposed to rain or moisture. If water enters the battery, it can cause corrosion, which may cause the battery to catch fire or even explode. The battery should be kept at a temperature between -10℃ and 40℃. If it's used in an environment that's hotter than 50℃, it may catch fire or explode. Using it in temperatures below -10℃ can lead to permanent damage. Also, do not disassemble or puncture the battery in any way, as it can cause leakage, fire, or explosion. We suggest sending the aircraft back to DJI for diagnosis. You can submit a repair request here (https://www.dji.com/global/support). Thank you for your patience.
