Recently I noticed one of my prop sets was a little damaged so in order to swap them out I got the DJI screw driver out and attempted to replace them

But the screw on them is too tight and if I try anymore I feel like it will strip

Any tips?

Any options in Canada? The shipping and duties on that will cost more than the screwdriver itself lol

This is what I will do.
Heat the VERY tip of the screw driver with a lighter (not the torch) for a few seconds then insert the tip into the screw head fully.
Wait about 10 seconds and start to unscrew BUT not forcefully. If no movement at all, reoeat the heating one more time.
The heat from the tip should soften the blue glue at the end of the screw.
Just don’t overheat the tip of the screw driver or the shaft will melt the plastic handle!

In general for bigger screw, I’d use Dremel with cutting disc and cut a slot on the screw head and use the straight tip screw driver for more leverage.

The cheap all metal small screw set will wotk better for above method.

This is so annoying

I hate small screws they're always such a giant pain in the ass

I believe any decent PH000 should do the job, the melting of the Loctite is a good idea though, never tried that before so, i mean any other application, so i will remember for future reference

Upon closer inspection, you can see that the stock screw driver tip is just a little too big when compared to the Wera PH 000.

If the screw driver failed, I’d use a small Dremel grinder tip to cut off the prop hub as shown.

You may cut into the screw but it’s ok since you will use a pliers to remove it once the prop hub broke off anyway.

If no Dremel tool, the Exacto blade may work but has to be careful!

Just put some WD 40 on it give it a chance to penetrate and try again.

I use a PH000 out of my wowstick kit as DJI failed to include a screwdriver in my purchase.  Seems the loctite on the tip of the screw is doing its job as expected. Just use steady pressure and it should finally give way.

If your screw is severely stripped like mine, my last resort was melting the propeller plastic around the screw head using a solder and use a pliers to grip the screw head and twist it, works well for me.

I got my Wera PH000 today and tried it on the Mini 2 and it works great, still needs decent pressure but no slippage at all...

WHY, OH WHY, did DJI stray away from the quick release props?  They were SO easy to replace!!

Rub the tip of the Wera against a magnet will do. Or if you have a tiny magnet, just attach it to the shaft as seen.

the drone's weight, the overall design, and the cost do not permit and is not particular conducive to these tiny drones (including the autel nano) to use the quick release props.  my personal opinion is it's totally unnecessary and would be akin to quick release tires on your car.  i'm going to give dji and autel the nod that they are smarter than us and they know exactly the good reasons for this.  and btw, in....before the patent infringement people derail the thread.

Thanks, i have to .5cm earth magnets which will do the job, i did actually think of that and will do it next time i use it, when i noticed it was only for the accessory panel on my laptop, 1 screw, this time, thanks again for the tip though.

I also got confirmation from DJI Support that PH0 is correct. I purchased a nice set off Amazon with PH0, PH00, and PH000. The PH0 did work the best for me but I must agree with other posts that the included driver has a shorter, blunter tip.

There are different sizes of PH0, e.g. 40mm, 60mm etc, which did you get?

Wow I didn't  know there were different sizes of PH0. I got this set on Amazon on sale for $7.99. Worked great but didn't come with a case.

To be fair, im not sure what the the size diff means, i only know that i bought a PH000 as advised on here, this was in the early days of the Mini 3 Pro, so i am trying to find the exact size needed as the PH000 doesnt appear that tight in the head, not had to use it mind but just want to make sure its right...

...heres the Wera in the 2 sizes
