I heard a while back that someone used a usb-c microphone with the RC for the mini 3 pro to add audio to the screen recordings.  But, when I tried doing the same, it didn't work.
Maybe I did something wrong.   Has anyone else had success in trying this?

If this is not currently supported, I would REALLY like to see this function added.  DJI, are you listening?   

I cannot confirm on the latest RC firmware, but it used to work. I did happen to try it awhile back. You had to use the USB-C under the flap.

I have tried both a RØDE VideoMic GO II and an Apple USB-C to microphone adapter.
At lest with the latest RC firmware, it doesn’t crash like it used to, but neither work.

The status at the top does show the headphone symbol, but still no luck.

Go4 has an option to record audio with video by controller.
Mic installed directly on the aircraft seems to be pointless i think

A mic in the host port of the RC controller, not the M3P.

I sure hope DJI gives us this option in the near future.

Well, just confirmed that it no longer works. I do know that it did work. I specifically bought a USB-C mic because people said in the very beginning that it would record sound with an external mic. My guess is DJI disabled it because it probably consumes processor power and since they are having lockups and freezes with the RC controller they have to chop things here and there. Just a guess at this point.

I would imagine that any mic would consume less power than the forthcoming Cellular dongle that DJI will be releasing.

I think DJI have done something since then that’s has affected the. host USB-C port.

As of 7-16-2022 with the RC Firmware 01.01.0100, a USB-C microphone connected to the USB port on the left under the flap, works again!!

COOOOL!   I can't wait to try it out.  I will come back here to verify after I do.

Yes, now with this reference (Amazon France) Micro, for only 37 €, it works with the last firmware (RC Firmware 01.01.0100).

Sadly, since the last update on the FW last week, my USB Mic no longer works Very frustrated as we were at the beach for 3 days and I was screen recording to get the ocean sounds, and there is just silence :/
It worked just before the FW update.

I'm still trying to find out if that RC Host USB-C port is able to use a stereo input, as in, recording from 2 microphones, Left & Right channels, for stereo sound when played back.

Any info on that?

I don't want to have to buy a separate & dedicated stereo recorder, & then have to sync that recording with the video – Yes, I know how to do that – but my question remains.
