I am getting  a message now (about 2pm EST) that there is new firmware for the DJI RC.  (V01.01.0100)
Here's the changelog:

- Added support to identify the speed of the SD card.  SD cards with a slower speed rating than UHS-I Speed Grade 3 are not supported.
- Fixed issue: Screen flickering appeared when previewing photos and videos in playback.
- Fixed issue: System crashed after extended use in some scenarios
- Fixed some minor bugs.

Works great for me.

So my observations...

- The FCC/CE problem is fixed - no more rebooting to try to force FCC mode (I am in Canada).
- I have had obstacle avoidance stop working in N mode with 2.7K/30fps (I have never had this problem before).
- The small attitude indicator and compass map in the bottom left is not working as it did with the prior RC firmware.  It now acts as if the controller is pointing in an entirely different direction than it is, and calibration doesn't change anything.  This used to be a rock solid indicator of which direction the drone was in, but it's totally wrong now (by as much as 180 degrees) and jumps around a lot.
- (not fixed)... Wifi is still forced off but never automatically re-enabled.  Syncing logs requires manually turning wifi on.

Same for me (on the DJI RC).

Another issue... I no longer have any focus peaking information displayed.  Anyone else?

Actually... The red shows up when I select hyperlapse mode, but not with any other mode.

Solved... It was in autofocus mode...which does not have focus peaking.  Whoops.

Thanks for sharing your observations.  Great to know that the FCC/CE issue is fixed. Was getting tired of doing the temporary fix.  

Sad to hear that compass is no longer accurate and can't be calibrated.  
Also sad that you had OA stop while in a mode it should still working.

Seems like once again DJI has taken 1 step forward and 2 steps backward.  There software engineers must be pulling out their hair over not being able to fix bugs without creating more new bugs.  Real shame.

My compass from this new update is all over the place … can’t recalibrate , won’t let me used to be very reliable but 1.6.9 is just terrible

Yes ever since 1.6.9 compass is out by more then 180 D ,….can’t recalibrate just goes to some when I click on it

Why hasn’t there been an offical post about this firmware from DJI?

There is also an issue where the video cache isn’t saved on the RC when cache size is set to Auto.
If set to 16GB, the cache is saved correctly.
More examples of very poor testing by DJI.
