I think it is a bit of a gimmick and will probably never use it

Not used it seriously so far - only tested the function.  I probably won't use it a lot.

Im using a good amount,  and for shots that are hopeful contenders for magazine covers it will be fantastic,   I won't have to crop landscapes or do vertical panos to get the aspect ratio I need.

For stills it is a god send, use it all the time though you will get a much higher quality image if you take three or 4 horizontals pitching down after each shot and stitch as a mini panorama effectively making your horizontal resolution (effectively) 8064 pixels if using 48MP  However if windy, fleeting light or motion several composite images may not work so the single vertical is the best bet in those situations.

Vertical mode will be the incentive for me if I ever buy one. A lot of things I would like to photograph are primarily tall. OA is not something I bother about, I never use it on my M2P/Z except to test it and in all other respects I am perfectly satisfied with my Mavic Mini and Mini 2. I can't vote as I don't have one but that's my opinion lol.

Only for photos. I can't stand vertical videos.

For people use the Mini 3 just for make simple movies they don't need this verticla option but I thing it's a huge add

For photos: essential addition (can you imagine using your camera or smartphone without ever taking vertical photos? impossible)
For movies: useful for SNS mainly

Use it a lot for portrait format images and panos.  Don't and will never use it for video.

Very interesting results. Mainly being used for photos rather than videos. It surprises me how many are using it……Food for thought

On a side note re vertical video it amazes me how many people you see taking video but holding their phone in the wrong orientation

There is no wrong position.

For me the 2 advantages of the mini 3 over the mini 2 are D-Cinelike and the vertical view. If you don't use that, the mini 2 is enough

very useful for 360 panos, so effectively i use it every flight. Usually there are certain subjects that require vertical and make life easier. Also tried couple of videos that turned out pretty well. I thought it will be useless for videos, but to be honest it is quite different perspective and interesting for some situations.  All that say they don't like it or that it is totally useless usually haven't tried it or found its purpose/subject.

Vertical is useful for tall objects, as already mentioned. Otherwise, I don't see much utility in it. I generally despise vertical video, but I get that some people love it. *shrug*

In the past if I ever needed vertical (which wasn't much) I'd just crop vertically.

Vertical is aimed at those that post to sites that are in vertical, tick-tock and the like, then there are those that take vertical pano's etc so a bit more than just a gimmick. I am not voting yet as i haven't had it long enough, but I envisage myself using it for churches, abbeys and cathedrals etc and possibly panos.

Absolutely no gimmick for me (when I had it).
I used it all the time (every flight) to make AEB shots vertically and combine those to make a manual pano.
This way I got much more 'height' without having to make 2 rows of shots (which I have to do in portrait mode).
So yeah, I miss this feature a lot on the Mini 2.
