Burnt Out.........

After hitting 39.12c here yesterday several of the local fields went up in smoke,  and quite a few houses with a 20 minute drive also caught on fire.  This morning I went to check the aftermath of one of those fires.

Hard to say,   probably gone by the spring would be my guess.   It might have to become a series to capture the gradual changes.

Yes I have.  Something to beware of. It's usually code for undesirables having scouted out an area for potential mischief. Advice to their cronies.

thats what I thought but they are not near houses but in the parks.

Impressive capture DA.    Looks as if the firefighters were able to contain it before it spread too much.  I'm guessing with the heat wave you've been having that this could occur again.

It's on a farm, RDB.  Irrigation possibly. Or for the cattle/sheep.

Sorry, didn't realize it was on a farm. Irrigation or water for livestock sound exactly right.  We had a large pond on the farm I grew up on.  My Uncle used to keep it stocked with bass.  Guess that is why I learned to like fishing so much.  We did have a 2nd pond that was used by the livestock.  We had a couple of dozen Texas longhorn cattle.  One of steers had horns that were over 6 feet when measured from tip to tip.

I did my best to stay as far away from the as possible.  Was interesting enough being so close at feeding time but I never participated in roping them, etc.  I've seen what steer horns can do and it isn't pretty.

Luckily we've cooled down a good 10c over the last day but there have been a lot of fires like this,   and it some cases they spread to nearby houses.

Yes it was quite peaceful until the airline to the laser burst and went off like bullet,  I did jump out of my skin.
