The Cheshire Ring canal system bisects the town of Marple, with a flight of locks.
The upper reaches have recently been dredged, and the work is now complete.
I took a quick flight early one morning to have a bird's eye view.

Beautiful views Mr. B.    Everything is so green this time of year (despite the current heat wave).

Thanks RDB.  Much cooler and scattererd cloud today, with a freshening breeze. Temperatures dropped 15 degrees overnight.

My pleasure Mr. B.  Glad to hear it cooled down a bit.  That was quite the temperature drop overnight.

It was still a bit oppressive. Tonight should be back to normal with any luck.
Air conditioning is not something that the average UK home has ever needed,  but if Global Warming continues, it may become a necessity like you Amercans consider the norm.

You're absolutely right Mr. B.  Realistically I don't see an end to global warming.  One of the worst offending countries has no intentions to slow down global warming.

I've been doing a bit of reading and it seems global warming is mainly caused by industrial activity (burning fossil fuels such as coal and used in transportation such as gas or diesel powered cars, trucks, buses, trains and airplanes); agricultural activity (us of fertilizer which releases nitrous oxide which is one form of greenhouse gas and the decomposition of waste in landfills and the burning of biomass); and deforestation (the more trees we cut down the less carbon dioxide is absorbed by the remaining adult trees); and as the atmosphere warms, it is able to hold more water which creates more clouds, rainstorms and other symptoms of climate change.

Sorry, got off on a tangent.  Mea culpa.

Thanks. Yes, it's a busy area in the warmer months - not so much in the winter.
There has recently been major dredging work in the higher locks, during which the canal was closed of course.  You may remember my post earlier this year, on which you commented.

It is, and that's only half of them the others are behind the departure point of the flight.

Does the continue on the other side of the road,  I can see a hint of what might be water.

Yes the clip ends looking down on the marina at the intersection of the Cheshire ring and the spur continuing to Whaley Bridge. Straight on is towards WB, and a right turn would lead to Macclesfield and on round the ring in the clockwise direction.

34 here today.
But not too humid, which is nice.
After Sunday it will get hot and humid.
Not looking forward.

We're forecast to reach 30 degrees today, but it's already in the high twenties so I reckon it will surpass 30 degrees.
Thunderstorms forecast for Monday.
