* Transmission settings on DJI Fly app Dual Band, 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz setting  
* Safety Settings: Max Altitude: 500m Max Distance: No Limit Auto RTH Altitude: 50m  
* Advanced Safety Settings: Signal Lost: RTH  
* Firmware & APP Update:
Mini 3 Pro firmware version: 1.00.0201
DJI RC firmware version: 01.01.0100
DJI Fly version 1.6.9  


Also, I did Mini 3 Pro range test with 47 min. battery and RC-N1. Total 10km (5km + 5km round trip) 50% battery left in 19 min.
After showing “RC signal weak” few times, the signal would be disconnected and RTH would be triggered automatically.
Both DJI RC and RC-N1 range test performance are about the same.  


* Make sure "Signal Lost" setting is RTH in Advanced Safety Settings



DJI Mini 3 Pro is awesome!

The mini 3 model in Taiwan is so different than Japan.

Japan. Max transmission distance: 8 km in MIC mode. The latest version of firmware should be able to fix the range issue.
Make sure you use the following settings:  
* Safety - Max Distance: No Limit  
* Advanced Safety Settings - Signal Lost: RTH  
* Firmware & APP Update:
Mini 3 Pro firmware version: 1.00.0201
DJI RC firmware version: 01.01.0100
DJI Fly version 1.6.9  Fly in an empty space without interference, such as seaside
Also, it depends on wind conditions.

I didn't do full range test, but I am impressed with the range test result (total 10km = 5km + 5km round trip).  I believe that it could fly more than 7km or 10km one way without interference.    Refer to the specs,  Mini 3 Pro Signal Transmission Ranges (FCC) :
Strong Interference (urban landscape): Approx. 1.5-3 km
Medium Interference (suburban landscape): Approx. 3-7 km
Low Interference (suburb/seaside): Approx. 7-12 km.  https://www.dji.com/mini-3-pro/specs

I applaud DJI for finally documenting these transmission ranges and in my usage each one is spot on.

Excellent test and great write up William.    

I'm interested in seeing if the RC firmware (v01.01.0300) that came out this morning fixes the compass issues.  Have you tested it yet?

I don't have compass issue. I did compass calibration after updating the latest version of firmware and DJI Fly app.

Good to know you weren't have any compass issues.  I updated my Mini 3 but unfortunately it is too windy today to go out and fly.  I'm going to go ahead and do a calibration compass and have it ready to fly tomorrow, weather permitting of course.
