I've tried to update my Phantom 3 Professional 7 times now, with my 64GB card and the card provided with the drone. Each time I see something like the following. Is anyone else experiencing this problem updating to the "Phantom 3 Professional Firmware v1.3.20" from http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3/download ? I'm upgrading from 1.2.6.
I've removed the battery every time. The battery has more than 50% power. There's nothing else on the memory card, and the .bin file is in the root.

Any other ideas?

There is no such folder. Only thing that remains is an empty DCIM folder, the .txt and the .bin file.

I know you will hate hearing this but....

Can you try again using the SD card that came with the Phantom and try the following.

1: Format the SD card IN the P3 using the App.
2: Download a fresh copy of the firmware and unzip
3: Copy the P3X_FW_V01.03.0020.bin to the ROOT of the SD card
4: Put the SD in the P3 and power it on ( observing the 50% minimum charge in the battery )
5: Wait and see.. If it starts beeping De.De.De.De ( then wait for about 20 minutes ) if after 5 minutes you have no beeps, turn it off and post the log again.. Also loom for the hidden /MISC/LOG folder ( might need to enable hidden files in Windows to see it )

Sorry you are having this issue dude, seems to go well for most. cant understand what does wrong for some..

I'm heading out for the rest of the week on a trip so unfortunately I can't give this a shot. The drone still seems to be working fine with the app so I don't believe the firmware update is a requirement for this week. I'll try again when I get back next week.

However, I will note that I have tried all those steps, except for looking for a hidden folder. I'm on a Mac though, so I'll have to execute a terminal command to see what might be looming there. Thank you for replying. If you can think of anything else please let me know.

Hi, if somebody can help me, today i just buy my Phantom3 professional I´m installing the firmware to my aircraft, i start to install at 17:17 PM an now it is 19:38 PM and still installing i hear the DDDD sound, when I start to install the firmware the battery is fully charged but now it remains 50%, i´m very worried because it not finish to install and i do not know if it is installing or it is bugged.

It's just the latest... I don't know why it shows an older version because it's definitely not on the card!

And if I take off the memory card and turn on again the P3, it is make the same loud noise. Something is locked I think! I don´t know...

That definitely sounds like something different. In my case, it proceeds and attempts to do the update without beeping like that.

If you leave it to do this beep sound for 10 to 15 minutes it should recover and continue the firmware update....

Remove SD card from drone > delete all files > format card FAT32 > place .bin file on SD card   (nothing else) > replace SD card into drone > power drone up > light will flash red & green on camera for about 24 minutes and turn solid green when fw update is complete

Same problem.
I try to update to firmware P3X_FW_V01.03.0020.bin without success.
I use the SD that comes with the Phantom P3Pro. I check twice that I downloaded the correct version for Pro model.
I tried severals times to upgrade, with the suggested notes from previous replies above, but nothing works.
I tried to format the SD from the mobile app, copy the bin in the root, launch the upgrade process (put the SD on the drone, and turn it on). Everything seems to work well but after 30mn: solid red light on the camera, and beeeeepppp in continue...
I tried also to format from the notebook, FAT32 to remove all, even hidden files...same result.
So after 4 attempts, 2 hours, I'm fed up with DJI Phantom upgrade...it never works like a charm...

Some ideas?

I used another SD card that didn't come with the drone.  Brand new card > format(I didnt use app to format, used PC or MAC) > place .bin on card
Make sure the card is readable

Have you tried another card?

In fact, I think the only difference with what I've done previously, was to let the controller ON when upgrading the aircraft...
